This hotel was, by far, the worst hotel I have ever stayed at in Egypt....for the following reasons: 1. Our bedrooms were situated almost on the airport runway, even though we asked for rooms located in a quiet part of the hotel (we have a small baby) 2. Bedroom was cleaned one day out of 2, 3. Staff pretended to understand English, but had NO clue, 4. Kids swimming pool unheated, 5. Everything is to a certain time, slides in pools closed for 3 hours during the day, children could not go on trampoline during the day, had to get off the sun lounges when told, 6. Couldn't reserve a table for us at the general restaurant - we were a group of 8 adults + 8 kids so we had to insist to sit together at lunch + dinner, 7. Arrived at 2am + told to go to the restaurant before we could have our keys....kids were exhausted... 8. Overall cleanliness around the pool was very poor, dead bird lay on the ground for some days.
I would strongly advise anyone with children to pay a little extra and go to another hotel.....

We enjoyed our stay here ,the weather was great and the staff friendly.Yes the hotel rooms were basic and needed updating but they were clean and comfortable. The food was ok, the bread and pastries were lovely.
It's best to tip the staff early on in your holiday and you will be looked after, a couple of dollers here and there does the trick.
We enjoyed snorkelling off the jetty down at the sister hotel and we went to Cairo for a day. We did this independently by booking flights before leaving Britain and getting a guide and driver from this web site for 50 dollers.We set off in the morning, saw the pyramids, sphynx and Cairo and were back in time for a swim in the pool late afternoon, job done.

My partner and I stayed in the Sunrise Island Gardens in October 06.
I have to say we both loved this hotel. We were treated like royalty our whole stay.

Staff- The staff are wonderful, so friendly and always very helpful.
We got very friendly with one of the waiters Mohammed, even went out for a night in Naama Bay with him. Also Hassan that runs the shisha den, is great too. He arranged one of our trips out on the quads privately, just my partner and I.

Rooms- Our room was fab, huge bed, and very comfy. Always kept spotless by the cleaner. Always nice aminal or flowers on our bed made with towels every day, and fresh flowers in a vase.

Food & Drink- Food was great, always a great variety, couldn't have asked for more. We also tried the italian restaurant, but didn't enjoy this as much as the buffet restaurant.
Drinks are served by the glass, cocktails are fab. Think I tried nearly every one. They are lush. Wine is also lush, and the local beer sakara is nice too.

Trips- Our stay at Surise Island Gardens was only for 1 week so we got as much trips in as possible. We went out on the quads twice, loved it so much, such fun we had.
St Catherines Monastry was a great trip also, lunch in hotel and a trip to Dahab was included in this trip. Well worth the money.

Beach- The beach is at the sister hotel just 5 minute, if that walk away. We went to the beach once during our stay. Its quite small and cramped. We prefered the hotel pool to be honest.

Hotel Grounds- The hotel grounds/gardens are lovely sublime and really well kept.

Pools- We thought the pools were great. And we were always able to get a sun lounger, no matter what time of the day we went to the pool.

Don't worry about the airport being so close, it didn't disturb us at all.
Naama Bay is a must, we loved it.

My husband and I booked this holiday about a week before departure and were looking for a holiday with great weather and a chance to relax. The main resort buildings were well maintained and clean but the rooms failed in the bathrooms as it was obvious that these had not been updated or maintained as well as the other areas. Upgrading essential for the bathrooms. The bathrooms were cleaned as much as possible and there were no other faults with the housekeeping of the room, our housekeeper was lovely and very attentive. Our only other grumble was the service we received at the pool bar. We found a few of the staff here very unfriendly and lacked good customer service for which we were very suprised as all other staff where friendly. The resort could do with a late bar or disco instead of having to go to the sister resort ( although this is only a 5 minute walk). I would reccommed this resort to other family and friends but with certain warnings (don't expect great service at the pool bar ha ha). Anyone that goes here have a great time, I would go back.
