“Won't Be Disappointed”

We had never been to Egypt before but thought we'd try it as an alternative to the Canaries. We researched Tripadvisor and decided that the Hiton was ideally situated for Na'ama Bay. Most of the opinion was in favour of the Fayrouz over the Sharm Dreams but we decided to go for the cheaper Sharm Dreams. We found the hotel to be excellent. We were only B&B so cannot comment on the evening meal but the breakfast was very good. The room was very spacious with a good sized private balcony and looked as though it had been recently decorated. The staff were friendly and overall it was a very enjoyable experience especially as the weather was mid eighties every day. It is no distance at all to the promenade adjacent to the beach from where you can stroll into the town centre. There is a busy road to cross to get to the Fayrouz and you have to be vigilant crossing but you soon get used to it and I wouldn't let it put anyone off unless unsteady on their feet. The Pirates Bar is a feature (well it was for us) as the Sakara was cheap until 9.00pm withan endless supply of crisps and monkey nuts. Probably the best feature for us was the Hilton private beach shared by the Fayrouz and Sharm Dreams, perfectly situated with plenty of beds to go round. An ideal location and hotel for the winter months!

“Lovely hotel, excellent staff”

Hilton Sharm Dreams Resort

This hotel is a lovely hotel with excellent facilities. The rooms are clean and large, the swimming pool is excellent and the location of the hotel is fantastic. It is about 10 minutes walk from the main strip in naama bay and only 5 minutes walk to the beach. The Italian restaurant within the hotel is very nice, however the main restaurant is a dissapointment. The breakfast is average. The hotel staff are very friendly and always willing to help. They do like to take their time and sometimes you need to ask about 2 or 3 times before something gets done. The hotel transfer is not free and needs to be booked in advance before you fly there. I would advise doing this as the taxi's outside the airport are a rip off!!! A friend gave us a guide which really helped us a lot. Contact me if you would like this guide and I'll happily forward it on. It gives you pretty much everything you need to know from departure to arrival and back. All in all this was a very nice hotel with hardly any faults.

“Hotel is fine, Hilton's Best Rate Guarantee and Customer Service isn't”

The hotel itself is fine. Nice rooms, prefectly clean and huge too.
Pool is also good but there aren't enough sunbeds to go around.
Breakfast is ok too but no more than that.
My big gripe is with the Hilton Best Rate Guarantee.
I found it cheaper on hotels.com within 3 days and submitted my claim on 7/12/07. Finally got a reply 3 months later saying the hilton.com price is cheaper, so the claim is invalid. That may have been true 3 months later but it wasn't when i submitted the claim!!
Replied back, stated my case and have been ignored since despite numerous emails sent to [--], [--] and [--] who supposedly work in customer relations.

“Pleasant enough, but the Hilton fayrouz has the better location!”

Hilton Sharm Dreams Resort

We stayed at the Hilton Dreams in December 2007. The hotel is nice enough, bigs pools, staff very pleasant & helpful and as a Hilton honors member we were given a very nice upgraded room near the front of the complex & reception.
I wouldn't like to have stayed in one of the rooms further away from reception as it would be quite a trek in the heat.
If you are a pool person and don't usually leave your hotel much then you will probably like this place.
The dining hall looks lovely, high ceilings, big glass windows and chefs are lovely and will happily cook you something special if you cant find what you want.
I am vegetarian and the chefs noticed this and made me a massive plate of fresh hot falafels which was very sweet.
Waiters are funny and there is the option to sit outside if you wish.
It can get very nosiy & "canteen-like" in the dining room, very bad acoustics, be warned. We prefered to sit outside and to be honest I would recommend going B&B and eating in one of the many places in Namma Bay instead - you really are spoilt for choice within 5 minutes walking of the hotel and the atmosphere is so much nicer plus you get a better variety.
The Dreams is situated on the wrong side of a busy dual carrigeway and you need to cross this road to get to the beach, shops etc. Ok if you are fit & healthy, but if you have mobility problems or small children I would recommend staying in the Hilton Fayrouz which is right on the beach with no roads to cross.
There are no pedestrian crossings, just an island in the middle of the road and the taxi drivers drive very fast and are constantly honking their horns and shouting at you looking for custom. It can get annoying when all you want to do is cross the road!!
If you are a pool person then maybe the road will not bother you, but there is some great snorkeling from the Fayrouz beach so it seems a shame not to experience it!
The Fayrouz beach is lovely & wide & sandy - the best in Namma bay infact! You exchange your pool card for towels on the beach.
In summary, if you can get a cheap deal then I would recommend this hotel BUT if you have mobility problems I would suggest the Hilton Fayrouz, Novotel beach or the Jollie Ville instead - all great hotels.
Out of town, I can also highly recommend the Hilton Waterfalls - a fantastic beachside hotel with great snorkelling and you can get some great rates directly on the Hilton website.
