Just returned from the Sofitel - as other reviewers have said the bathrooms are a disgrace - also because the rooms are built into the hillside you will get a lot of noise from other guests at all times of the day and night as unlike most hotels there are only rooms on one side of the corridor outside your room and the walls and floor are concrete so sound travels also on our floor some guest seemed incapable of closing the door without slamming it !!
The major problem with this hotel is the fact you can hear the discos from Naama bay each and every evening so if you are a light sleeper dont expect much rest before 3 am
That is except for Thursday eve where the hard Rock Cafe have a open air disco which is about 10 times as loud as the other ones and it actually sounds like the disco is in the hotel and this goes on from 3 am to 6:30 am !!! you have been warned - many guests were complaining !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I spoke to the duty manager about this and he said he was trying to get something done about it - I said you better quick because once the word gets out on this forum you will be loosing guests
I cant comment on the food as we ate out in Naama bay most evenings but we did eat in the Indian resturant in the hotel and its excellent
The sunbeds are nearly all taken by 07:30 especially round the pool but only half will be sat on by 11:00 and the brits are as guilty in this as any other nationality !! and that also goes for the beach
To sum up its a nice hotel certainly not 4 or 5 * and not the place for a relaxing break and a good nights sleep !!
