“Ideal Holiday for chilling out”

Sheraton Miramar Resort

From the moment you walk into reception you get the feeling that you are on a winner. Excellent , friendly and polite staff. Extensive choices and variety of food especially at breakfast. Pool area and facilities superb the staff cant do enough for you. Accommadation was superb. Slightly to hot for June, however this didnt spoil the break. I would definitely return but only for a week as the local activities "down town El Gouna" dont come up to much. I dont know whether it woul be everybodies cup of tea , but if you just want good weather listen to some music and read a book then it is ideal

Our second trip to El Gouna and second stay at the Sheraton Miramar...this is the first time we have ever revisited a destination and hotel.....again, we had an amazing experience.

El Gouna is only just over half an hour from Hurghada. It is a beautiful resort, like being in a bubble. El Gouna is owned by one company and they have put in place rules, so you don't get hassled or taxis don't rip you off, if they do they are off the resort. There is lots to do and see - we were there for a week and got some amazing diving (on-site with TGI) in - a coral reef and a wreck, snorkelling with a 4 foot turtle!, quad biking in the desert (highly recommed Alex Safari), horse riding and a visit to Hurghada (only thing we won't recommend - EL Gouna is 1000 times nicer).
The staff at the Sheraton hotel looked after us tremendously well again. We had a lovely room overlooking the lagoon - large king sized beds, rooms are really quiet and dark so lots of lie-ins!
Breakfast is superb - everything on the menu from freshly made omelettes to pasta!! Loungers on beach are great and the service on the beach is excellent. Pizzas at Waves (by the pool) highly recommended, dinner at Oriental restaurant was fantastic. The staff are very friendly and nothing is a problem...
We have been recommending the Sherton Miramar, El Gouna since our first stay and will keep on recommending it - it's FANTASTIC!!!

“Simply Stunning”

Sheraton Miramar Resort

Jun 8, 2008

From when we arrived to when we left we felt like royalty. The hotel and setting/location was beautiful. The rooms and food were lovely and the staff were so friendly and helpful. When we were choosing this hotel it was a toss up between the Movenpick and the Sheraton and we are so pleased we picked the Sheraton. We emailed the hotel direct and requested one of their more sought after rooms to which they were more than happy to oblige (obvious it was subject to availability) but we had the most gorgeous room overlooking one of the many lagoons. What I would advise though is to become a member of the Starwood Preferred Guest scheme, its free and they have a website so type it into a search drive. This membership gives you further privileges in the hotel and further enhances your chances in recieving one of the more spectacular rooms.

“not deluxe...”

...but MAJESTIC..!

(Just for the record we have travelled as a family to exotic places and islands in Asia, Caribbean, Indian Ocean.. I am not saying El Gouna is better than anything or anywhere else but we have a benchmark to compare fairly).

In the 10 days we stayed here we found Nothing to complain about at all in the Sheraton. Everything positive we read from other guests' reviews was found to be true in our experience. In fact The Sheraton Miramar in El Gouna delivered much more than our expectations and we had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday.

We stayed in the newly refurbished 9000 block with two inter-connecting rooms for our family of 5 - fabulous large spotlessly clean bedrooms with superb balcony and sea/beach views, large bathrooms (we even had "his&hers" twin shower cubicles). Un-crowded hotel complex, beautiful lagoons, plenty of gardens and large beach area with turquoise sea comparable to the Caribbean. All the staff are excellent and friendly and go out of their way to make you welcome.

We also visited the Steigenberger and Movenpick 5-star hotels... ok .. but we felt we had definitely made the BEST choice by staying in the Sheraton El Gouna. The swimming pool was a perfect size, restaurants were all very good. The sauna/gym/steam room were all excellent, as was the revitalising neck & back massage I had.

The evening buffet was sumptuous with varied themes on different nights. The breakfast buffet was magnificent and we were very pleased to be able to eat the traditional Egyptian "fool madamas and tamiya" in the mornings. Evening entertainment was also good with belly dance, fire show, traditional folk shows, singers etc..

Really you cannot go wrong by choosing this hotel a definite 5-star. All food and drinks are not expensive compared to UK/European prices, except the imported wines which have a government import duty of 485%, so the hotel is not to blame for the high prices!

We also visited Hurgadha by taxi to see some other hotels and shops.. we were really glad we chose to stay in El Gouna resort. Of course this is our opinion, if you want a relaxing holiday with sufficient activities and amenities and wide range of cuisine in 5-star ambience.

On some days the resort became quite windy especially in the evenings, but this is true for all the Red Sea coast. The temperature was always around 32 - 35 Celsius during our stay between 23rd May -2nd June, though the cool breeze did not make it feel so hot.

We travelled with 2 teenagers and a 9 year old and they loved it... we will highly recommend this hotel/resort to all our friends.

“Relaxing”

Sheraton Resort has a excellent location and is a large spacious resort. You can walk to the marina 10 -15 minutes or you can buy a bus ticket unlimited use for one week 15 egyption pounds. There is also a option to go in a tuc tuc for 10 egyptian pounds to marina or downtown.
we stayed for 2 weeks 17th-30th may bed and breakfast. Are room was no 6102 good location in the middle of resort check in was very efficient . Breakfast has resonable amount of choice although throughout the two weeks it was the same almost everyday, my only groan would be the fruit there was not much choice and the indivual yoguarts were not chilled. We did book a meal in the orinatal 1001 this was very expensive and the food was no better than any where else we ate. The wine is very expensive for example blossom hill rose £4.99 in uk 530 egyptian pounds how ever you can have local wine this works out about £18 uk prices.
The rooms are excellent very clean ,large king size bed and very fulffy towels, each day at the beach we choose the relaxation beach clean towel and waiter service if required.
The weather was excellant very hot about 33 daily, and we choose to do a trip to luxor including hot air ballon flight the trip itsself was ok but the ballon flight was excellent made the 7 hours travel by road worth while, the tour guide was very good, this was booked through thomas cook.
Thomas cook chooses to use Koral blue from birmingham as ther carrier i do not recommend them........
People are very friendly there is no hassle out and about and could not do enough for you.
My Favourite restuarants would be as below:
Maddisson thomas @ marina
La Scala@ marina
Kikis @downtown
Entainerment at hotel is good always someting going on like backgroud music, fire dancer, belly dancer, live band.
Overall i would recommend this hotel and possibally return one day.
