Hmmm.. well, I don't get the bad reviews. I just returned from a two day stay and thought the place was nice. The beds and pillows are extremely comfortable. It was clean, had a great view of the ocean, is a great location on the boards, is just one block from the tropicana. The staff are professional and friendly, from maid service to front desk. In addition, our corner room had an extra large bathroom which was nice.The elevators were fine, they didn't seem slow to me. My only complaint is that there were not heavy dark curtains to pull across the window to block out the morning sun, just sheer white curtains to cover the window, so the light woke me earlier than I wanted to get up. Nice place, good price, great location. What more could you ask for besides the curtains?

I really hate to write a poor review about a hotel, but here goes.
Please heed the poor reviews on this hotel. Where to start....the elevators are very slow. It took us 15 minutes on average to get into one of the working elevators. Once we arrived on our floor, we were greeted with the smell of old cheese mixed with socks. The room was not much better. The windows had some type of condensation on them, so you could barely see out. The bathroom floor was dirty and moldy, the tub and shower had a mix of mold and rust. There were black hairs all over the bottom of the toilet, and I can't even begin to explain what the stains were on the curtains. For the money we spent $205.00 we were better off staying at a casino. I would definitely forgo the misadventure of staying at this hotel and stay somewhere else. We’ll see what happens when they renovate, I know I will never go back.

During my two-night stay, I ate breakfast both days in Scribbles. I can honestly say that the food was top notch--delicious, fresh, and served by a competent and cordial waitress.

The room was quiet and clean, although I do think this Holiday Inn needs to work on their elevators. They can be slow. The beds were very comfortable.

Overall, I think this hotel is fine for those who want a safe place to stay, but don't need the glitz and glamour of an expensive casino hotel.

It is really terrible. There are bugs in the rooms. The carpet is disgusting also. The restaurant was closed when we stayed there. What a horribe experience.
