On Friday, April 21, 2006 my wife and I stayed at this location (room# 103)and had a good stay. There was really nothing wrong with the room. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom looked as if it had been newly renovated and the TV was fine. The carpet looked fairly new, and we did not see any cigarette burns anywhere. There were a couple of estetic flaws around the door such as some protuding wires, but this did not affect the overall use of the room.
The breakfast was ok, they had a nice machine that dispensed hot chocolate and coffee. However, they did not have any juice or milk which I was a bit disappointed to see. They had bagels, and honey buns. Not the best, but far from the worst that i have ever had. But, it is far cheaper to stay here and go out for breakfast than to have it included somewhere else... especially on the weekend.
What I did like was that were were next door to the Tropicana casino. As far as some other complaints of hookers and other undesirables around the hotel, I did not see much of this. I have seen some complanits about this with various hotels in Atlantic City. Well, welcome to Atlantic City. If you don't want to see the seedy side of life, get a room outside the city or at the top floor at one of the casino's. Rating a hotel based on the social problems of city is beyond the scope of control of the hotel. Not really fair.
I would recommend this motel for anyone looking for a decently priced room, in a great atlantic city location.
