“I liked it! For the price!”

Econo Lodge Beach Block

We also stayed in the Econo Lodge July 4th weekend. Our first night was Thursday and it was only $105 bucks, not bad! The second night was $260.00 but when other casion hotels are charging anywhere from 450-800, it really isnt a bad deal.

Yes, it was rowdy that weekend but lets be fair... it was 4th of July and it is an Econo Lodge. We also heard lots of commotion outside, but it sorta goes with the territory, I think.

The place wasnt fantastic, but it was ok and I would stay there again for the right price. They did give a ton of towels and the proximaty to beach and Tropicana was great!

It had a mini fridge which was nice and a coffee pot. The bathroom were tiny, but provided all they needed too. Shower, etc..

“Worst hotel stay of my life!”

Econo Lodge Beach Block

Jul 8, 2008

My friend and I stayed at the Econo Lodge 4th of July weekend. We had reservations at Resorts for Thurs night but every casino hotel was sold out for Fri night. We decided to take our chances with the Econo Lodge since it was right across the street from the Trop and we would be able to dine, gamble, and party there all night, and then just take a short walk to our hotel. They charged us $260 for one night when we paid $175 to stay at Resorts the night before! We pretty much had no choice since every other hotel was sold out. While checking in, 2 bummy looking guys walked in from the street looking for a bathroom to use (skeevy). The hotel rooms are accessible from the street so all you hear is noise and traffic from the street. The bathroom was so small that I wondered how an overweight person could have used the toilet. They did stock the bathroom with lots of towels which was one positive thing. The sheets on the beds were so thin they were see-through and there were cigarette holes in the blankets. The room stunk of cigarettes. The room did have a really good air conditioner though. The windows were filthy and looked like they'd never been cleaned. Our room overlooked the parking lot where hotel employees were bundling sheets and towels on the parking lot ground. The people staying in the room across from us were a loud group of guys drinking beer with their door open. I decided to park my car in the Trop parking lot where I felt it would be much safer. At night we couldnt sleep because there was screaming, banging, and fighting outside our door and we also heard the people in the room next to us getting busy. The walls were so paper thin that you could hear people sneeze and talk on their phones. We called every single hotel in AC to see if anyone had a cancellation and would be able to take us in. I can't understand how so many people with children were staying there. It was disgusting and I would never let my kids stay at a place like that. There is continental breakfast but it was so crowded that we just took some fruit and left. I understand that we weren't staying at the Borgata, but I can't believe that Econo Lodge would have the nerve to charge $260 for such a dump. The icing on the cake was the crackhead who came up to us while we were leaving our room. She told us she couldnt believe that we'd pay money to stay in such a bummy place. Unless you are a group of guys looking for a place to drink beer in AC, I would not recommend this place as it is unsafe and gross.

“Worth the money...”

Went to AC for one night with several of my friends. The room was suprisingly pleasant for the price we paid ($130) on a Fri. The location is key if you want to be around the Trop. We actually took the Jitney (which was easy to catch) to head to the new club at Harrahs (the Pool). Breakfast is included but, we didn't make it there in time. The bathroom was fairly clean is spacious enough. There's a microwave/fridge is you want to store cool beverages or food. The only complaint I have was the bugs crawling on the floor, but they weren't cockroaches atleast! I have stayed at the El Greco a couple blocks from this motel, and between the 2 I would rather stay here again b/c it's in better condition and the rooms are more spacious. I would recommend staying here again for the price and location!

First of all, this is AC, so i thought either major $$$ or super dump. But this was right in the middle. WOW! the location / next to the tropicana. The room was clean and service was awesome. We called about the TV remote not working and they were there in 45 seconds to fix it! ALL the rooms have a fridge and microwave...so keep some cold ones in the room. I recommend staying on the BOARDWALK SIDE.. the other side was a little more shady and more hooker action.

I took a vacation to Atlantic City for the first time on August 19th. We stayed 3 nights at the Econo Lodge Beach Block. When we first arrived it was raining like cats and dogs. The woman behind the front desk was very nice. She gave us advice on where to have dinner..... When we arrived to our room it was very very clean and smelled like air fresher. The bathroom looked as if it had just been renovated. I even told my boyfriend that the linen smelled "too clean" :o). The room had a Microwave which was clean and a fridge which was also very clean. Let me be honest..... I didn't expect this hotel to be this nice but to my surprise it was. I will stay at this hotel again. It was located less than a minute tfrom the board walk and the Tropicana hotel. If you don't want to drive, the Jutiney stops right infront of the hotel.
