Just returned home from a weekend in Atlantic City, and we stayed at Madison House. We had booked through hotels.com, and I was expecting to be in the Sands. No biggie, but was a bit confused upon arrival. We wanted to stay at one of the casinos, and all the research I did said this was the most affordable. For the price we paid (compared to the prices of the other casinos, I guess this was OK. There were some problems, though. We had requested a king smoking room, and found that Madison is all nonsmoking. Funny thing, though, was that the hallways and our room clearly smelled of smoke. And if I, as a smoker, could tell, I'm sure it would really bother a nonsmoker. The bed was typical comfort level for the price range. There was no clock in the room--inconvenient, but not too big a deal. There was only enough coffee for one serving, but more was brought upon request. The curtains in the bedroom couldn't be fully closed to block light (we travel with clothspins for just such an emergency!). The bathroom had a couple of problems. The large plastic light fixture was almost falling off the ceiling, and had water in it. The bathtub had one of those after-market tub remodeling covers on it, which didn't fit well, so the square-bottom tubfitter didn't fully fill the round-bottom tub. Potentially dangerous for someone without good balance. Would I stay there again? Not sure.
