(check the candid photos section for many recent photos we just added)!
Pros: quick friendly check in, got my MINIvan in the inside parking & on 1st floor, room was big enough for all 6 of us, kitchen was fully equiped, awesome view of ocean, balcony was attached to my families who was in the next room, cheap, free self cook and serve coffee bar in lobby, pool and hot tub on top floor and viewing deck, game room
Cons: the 1 bedroom in our suite smelled of smoke after using Febreeze(which i took along after reading traveler reviews) and there were no windows in that room to air it out. didnt know how to use the jet tub and it shot water all over the room!! dishwasher took all day to wash, man was sealing right outside our balcony door! and men were working on the roof a floor down below our balcony at 9am.

Where to begin... There we're "7" of us on a "Girly 40th Adventure" booked this hotel without knowing a thing about Atlantic City or this hotel and what a GREAT SURPRISE! This place is in the middle of it all!! You can't get any closer to the beach or boardwalk, we booked 2 One Bedroom Suites, they are great, full kitchens, lots of room! We also could'nt say enough about the staff, NEKEA and everyone else we encounter on this weekend was more then helpfull!! We had a WONDERFULL time and I know if any of us ever go back to AC, we're staying here!! Thanks for the MEMORIABLE weekend, your hotel and staff were more then WONDERFULL!

“Not bad at all”

La Renaissance Suites

Organized a bachelor party in a 2 bedroom suite. Was expecting something really run down based on the reviews, but it wasn't bad at all. The room was very clean, the sheets and towels were clean as well as the bath. The terrace was an added bonus. The room did smell a bit stale, but once we opened the windows and aired it out, it was fine. Check in was a little slow and getting parking took some time but overall we had no problems. The room was not cheap but we needed a living area. This is not a high end hotel, but I would definitely recommend it. Location is decent and I think their standard rooms are probably a good deal.

“Great location for family vacation!”

La Renaissance Suites

We have a family of five (three teenagers), and are accustomed to staying in resorts of international distinction that we book through our timeshare exchange. Traveling with our children, we were not keen on the Atlantic City destination, and didn't read the reviews about this particular resort until after confirming our week. When we arrived at the resort, we were quite disappointed. It is very outdated, the oceanfront room that we reserved was not available, and parking our SUV in small garage spaces was extremely difficult. Additionally, the indoor pool was only approximately 12 feet long and 7 feet wide, and there was not an outdoor pool. However, the room was very clean. We decided to give it a chance and stay at least two nights before searching for alternate accommodations. We ventured onto the boardwalk, which was only a few steps from the lobby door, and noticed the beach access was directly in front of us. This proved to be extremely convenient as we spent the majority of our time at the beach and the kids were able to go back to the room for snacks, restroom, etc. as needed. The resort was situated in the middle of the boardwalk, within walking distance of most casinos, and a convenience and liquor store. The hotel security was superb (doors to the hotel and parking are locked - a swipe card is needed to enter). Nikkia- concierge/reservation specialist/front desk receptionist- was friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond to take care of other miniscule concerns. We decided to stay for the remainder of our week as the small pool, parking, and outdated room didn't have the negative impact on our vacation that we thought it would. Our greatest problem in Atlantic City was the presence of few American-owned, English-peaking businesses. For the most part, Atlantic City and the La Renaissance ended up being a great place for our family vacation. If you don't demand four or five star accommodations, or a pool in which you can actually swim, but prefer cleanliness, security, and location, I would definitely recommend La Renaissance.

“Better than I thought”

After reading the reviews before we left, I was quite leery and considered cancelling. The parking situation was quite frustrating. The description 2 other guests I spoke with was " I can't believe this." ! It was very frustrating to park in the garage and manuevering the luggage carriers around tight corners and heavy doors proved to be a challenge. The address for the hotel is really on a dead end street but it was not any worse than any of the other streets off the boardwalk. You get to the garage on this street with no where to go because there is a closed chain metal gate where you would enter the garage. You need a swipe card to get in which you obviously don't have yet. You have to park on the narrow street and walk up a long ramp to the hotel lobby to sign in, then go back and park. There are only about a dozen tight parking spaces on the 1st level otherwise you have to use the car elevator. My husband & I both said "Never again" BUT, once we got settled in, I was very pleased with our 2 bedroom unit. It was clean, well stocked, and maids kept inquiring if we needed anything. I had a small problem with a burned out light and maintenance was at my door almost before I was. He was pleasant & efficient. The lobby is small but there is a self brewer available 24 hrs a day with coffee varieties, hot chocolate & teas. (This is the kind where you put a pack of your choice & it brews in about 30 seconds. ) There is a Donut shop on the boardwak which is part of the same buliding complex. There is a small enclosed pool on the roof & a hot tub. The Tah Mahal & Resorts Casinos on located on the left about 1/2 block and Sands,Bally's & Tropicano on the right about 1 & 1/2 blocks. There are many eating places on the boardwalk including Johnny Rockets, Rain Forest & Hard Rock. If the hotel was more informative about the parking situation up front and possible had a porter to help with luggage, I would be very pleased. We had a kitchen in our unit so we had groceries etc with us which meant we had to make several trips to unload. BOTTOM LINE- I would go back again because other than the check in and parking frustration, it was a very nice place.
