We stayed at Flagship one night after one night at the Tropicana. While we got more space and a better view at the Flagship for less money, we missed the room service, sound proof rooms, and better mannered guests at the Trop.
First, we drove up Atlantic ave to the Flagship and really noticed how far away it is from everything else. Nothing but row houses, empty lots and random stores near flagship (except the liquor store around the corner).
Check in, around 4pm went smoothly, and our room was ready at that time. We requested an ocean view and got it, no problem. Parking was $5 and convenient to get to right next door, there was no valet. Our 8th floor room was a very large Metropolitan Suite, with couch/tv/dining table, kitchen area, etc. The balcony was nice but it looked over the pool area, so they could see you and you could see them. We had an ocean/city veiw which was very nice. SHould have gotten a higher floor though. Within 30mins of settling in we got a call from Time share people and politely turned them down.
Everything was fine until dinner time. At around 7pm we called the restaurant to order room service (or so we thought). However since they only have the hostess answering one line, we constantly got a busy signal or no answer for like 15 mins! Then I called every other number on the directory to figure out what was going on, and still no answer. Finally I got an answer from the conceirge (who prob. thought I was calling about the time share), who told me there was no room service and to keep calling so i could order take out. I went to pick up the food, but I had to order drinks at the bar seperately, which was awkward becuase I had to stand around, flag down the bartender, wait 10 mins for him to find a chilled bottle, and all the while in my relaxed clothes becuase I thought I would be in and out.
So anyway, the food was decent, burger was dry but edile. Pizza was very good as well as wings. Also they had some event going on in half the restuarant for time share people, thus you couldn't get a table w/out 30min wait.
Overall our night ended well, or so we thought. At around 4:00am, a loud group of drunkies came back to their rooms (or rather the hallway!) and started shouting in slurred speak and made bad attempts to plan some kind of party. After about 15 mins of trying to bear it, I called the front desk, and they sent security up imediately. Despite this, the ruckuss continued for another 10 mins from the doors opening and slamming. Rooms need to be sound proofed better if you are catering to budget Atlantic City travelers.
Upon check out I made sure to check out early, but even at 10:30 the elevators were no where to be found. As a result I walked down the 8 flights to the lobby and checked out fine.
Overall the service was good( except for ordering food). The view was awesome. However, unless you are a large group, don't mind college spring breakers, or are on a budget, I would not stay here.
