“Amazing Desert Safari”

Desert Safari is one excellent adventure. The travel agents that I chose was Right Tourism. The pick up was arranged from my hotel in Bur Dubai. The pick up time was between 3.30 and 4 pm. The driver Ali (+971-50-5151974) arrived at 3.45 pm. It was a Toyota LC. On the way to safari he took us to a place where there were 3-4 shops selling local merchandise, snacks, water etc. Time alloted for this break was 15 minutes. Thereafter we were ready to go for the actual safari. After entering the desert we halted for 10 minutes for photos where he made a final inspection of his car. Then the adventure began. Dune bashing followed for about 45 minutes. Thereafter we stopped at the highest dune to have a bird's eye view of the desert and take pictures. Next we headed for the sunset which took another 15 minutes of dune bashing and 10 minutes of car driving before we reached to the spot. Took pictures and set off for Dinner (which was organized in a camp). The place was good and well organised with camel ride, heena, shisha, local dress, unlimited tea/coffee/water/softdrinks. Late in the evening, the belly dance commences which is amazing. At the end of all there is buffet dinner. You get to spend around 2.5 to 3 hours in the camp.
Thereafter you are taken back to your hotels. The overall experience was awesome. Do ask for Ali driver Ali as he is simply amazing, has a good sense of humour and great car control. No cramps, backaches. The rate charged by this travel agent was very reasonable compared to the ones charged by other companies.

I think you have to choose your desert safari carefully. Although I had done a lot of research and read reviews before going out, we still ended up short changed. We book a desert safari with Front Line Tours through an independent travel agent in Bur Dubai area for 150DHr. We were told the tour would include at least 1 hour of dune bashing followed by oppurtunity to take pictures of the sunset. Then there was camel riding, belly dancing, barbecue diner, sheesha etc. We were not really too concerned about the other things but our main objective was the dune bashing. We were to be picked up at 3.45pm from our hotel in our landcruiser. Instead we were picked up an hour late at 4.45pm in a minibus. Then, we drove round looking for other people to pick up. We didn't get to the dunes til 6.20pm by which all other groups were finishing their dune bashing. We got about 10 minutes of bashing and then stopped for picures and went to the camp. We were fuming and asked the driver how long we should have had. He told us it was only supposed to be 15-20 minutes. I knew this was wrong and we told him that we were told it should have been 1 hour. It turns out he was a friend of the organisers anyway.
The next day we complained to the agent who sold us the tour. He contacted front line tours who claimed that we had at least 30 minutes of bashing and that was adequate. They were refusing to give us any form of refund. We were not going to back down either. They offered us to go on the tour again for an extra 40 Dhr each. We only had 2 days left in Dubai and no time to do it again. In the end after further wrangling we managed o get 50 Dhr back each which was some consolation. Front Line should have immediately acknowledged the problem and offered a solution rather than to lie about it and be so obstructive.

This is one excellent adventure, i have been on this adventure twice and both time i had a amazing experience. The after party ie dinner with belly dancing is good and you can join in the fun and food is really good loads of choice. One advise if you going on this safari do not eat anything before as this will make u sick and vomit. I also did the sandboarding and that was good fun but climbing back on that dune was one hell of a mission.

One advise also and a must do for the people into great adventure do a Quad bike safari on the dune, its one good experience. I did the first time i went to dubai and i wanted to go the next day again. its different doing it on the dunes then on the track. I would definetly recommend this.

Our safari/dinner was with Orient Tours and we can only say : "WOW!!!". The trip to the Bedouin camp for dinner was absolutely exhilerating and we must give our highest compliments to the drivers of the five vehicles on our tour. The bbq dinner was excellent, with plenty of food and salads, and the 'bar' was well stocked - we actually had a bottle of Jacobs Creek white wine so it felt like home!! During the tour, two members of the tour staff took photos and video and, when we arrived at the Bedouin camp, they had televisions set up so that we could view them. They were very good and, as much as you take your own photos, etc, they captured everyone on the tour and you had no idea it was done. We bought a DVD set of the photos and video for 90 dhs (appprox AUD$30). There were other activities at the camp while the bbq was cooked and, after dinner, the belly dancer was great, taking some of the 'guests' up to show their style, so to speak. We were picked up at our hotel in Deira at 3 30 pm and returned at 9 30 pm, so it was a packed six hours, but extremely enjoyable. Definately one of the 'must do' tours in Dubai.
