Stayed in the Four Seasons HK recently on a stopover. It is part of the ultra-modern IFC complex which includes office towers and a seriously upmarket shopping mall. The whole place looks modern and sleek. The IFC also includes Hong Kong station - with the Airport Express and in-town check-in for air travellers. In a nutshell, the Four Seasons' location for business travellers and shoppers is just about unbeatable in HK.
Check-in was efficient and front desk staff spoke English fluently. Most other staff speak English very well. Service throughout the hotel was efficient and courteous. We got a large room with a view of Kowloon and the harbour. Unfortunately dreary weather rather spoilt the effect. The room itself (and the rest of the hotel) is designed and furnished in the modern style - although hardly minimalist. Your mileage may vary - it doesn't really appeal to me. Broadband internet and your usual array of different wall sockets are available as one would expect in a top hotel. Separate shower and toilet stalls and twin sinks in the bathroom are welcome features. The gym is large and very well equipped with weights and machines.
This hotel is huge - especially by Four Seasons standards. For me, all this means that service - although excellent and faultless - lacks the personalised touch that you find in other Four Seasons properties. The hotel is simply too big - it's more like a Hilton or a Grand Hyatt perhaps?
The Chinese restaurant in the hotel is outstanding - it has perhaps the best dim sum you can find in Hong Kong. And perhaps the world. Reservations are a good idea.
Overall, this is an outstanding hotel that ticks every box. It is expensive - even by HK standards, but for offers much for its high prices.
