OK there's an occasional train whistle in the morning and at night - but it's not all night and day plus not like the movies where you're shaken from one side of the room to the other. My wife is a very light sleeper and hardly noticed the trains which were only short commuter trains. We stayed 7/8 to 7/13 and didn't do Disney but had my daughter's FCCLA conference at the Convention Center across the street from Disney. I looked and read about all the hotels in the area and found the TownPlace Suites the best value - it really was! My daughter was booked by her school into the Hilton for over twice the price and she appreciated our hotel much better than hers. So yeah, the hotel was newly renovated - they did a nice job! Nothing like a new, clean place to stay with a very nice hotel staff. Free parking, newspaper @ your door, free internet and quiet - nothing like those hotels close to Disney. No hotel restaurant or free continental breakfast but hey you have a full kitchen in your room and fast food in the same vicinity. The Angels play outside your window and you can even see the home of the NHL Stanely Cup Champion Anahiem Ducks too! We were very pleased and would stay again. "Trip Advisor" was a valuable tool for us!
