We arrived early...8:30 am...thought we would just drop off our luggage, but they let us check in!! Very nice. Front desk staff was great, very friendly and helpful. Loved all the extras about this hotel. Breakfast was wonderful, huge variety so everyone was full and happy before heading to the park. Came back for the hotels BBQ night, it felt like a big treat to get a free dinner! Rooms were clean and comfortable, we got clean towels and beds made everyday but wish the floor would have been vacuumed at least once. They may have done so if we had asked for it... The free washers and dryers were really nice when you could use them, they were usually full! We rode the ART shuttle to and from the park everyday which required a little waiting around but wasn't a big deal. It was nice to not have to deal with parking at Disneyland. Overall, we had a great experience here and would stay again.

“A well worn property but they do what they can.”

Staybridge Suites Anaheim - Resort Area

We stayed here for five nights at the end of March and it was a decent stay but had it's share of problems. First off, as far as it being a family friendly place, I have to disagree with that observation somewhat at least on the weekdays. Staybridge offers free beer and wine during their evening reception and you'd be amazed at how many people (mostly men) make sure they're back at the hotel in the late afternoon to take advantage of this freebie. They begin drinking as soon as it starts and continue all the way through the free happy hours. Towards the end of this free dispensement of liquor the area resembles a sports bar with obviously drunk guests roaming throughout the lounge and spewing all of the vulgarities that go along with that type of scene. Not exactly my definition of family friendly to say the least. Staybridge also advertises that they have food available during these happy hours but that varies between different Staybridge locations. As for this property, what was available during our stay was cheese and crackers, carrot sticks and assorted raw veggies with dip. We stayed at two other Staybridge properties during our vacation and they served full blown meals like lasagna, pot roast, and chicken cordon blue. Unless you're determined to wait in line to drink cheap beer and wine for free, you're better off staying at the parks during the hours they have this available.

Our room was good size but obviously well worn as evidenced by the wear on the furniture and carpets. One of the beds had blood stained linen which was gross and only got replaced when brought to their attention since housekeeping is the new fangled "lite" limited type that's become all the rage at hotels these days.

On the subject of linens, I witnessed one of the housekeeping staff pushing a cart piled high with fresh towels one morning on my way to breakfast. When I returned to my room the same housekeeper was picking up the towels off the grungy hallway carpet and putting them back on the cart. It seems like he had a little accident while wheeling through the hallway and dumped the entire load of towels. I asked him if he was planning on using those towels that fell on the floor and he said yes. When we got back that evening all of our towels were replaced with (hopefully) clean ones.

The front desk crew was somewhat surly the few times we had dealings with them. In their defense, this hotel seems to run at full occupancy and I'm sure they have their hands full.

It's a good idea to get to the breakfast line early for best selection and to avoid the mad rush. During peak times it is a zoo down there and dealing with impatient and rude guests can be a drag. At least they serve salsa and Cholula sauce with the scrambled eggs.

The equipment in the exercise room was old with some machines out of service. The pool area was always crowded and one night someone (too much free bear and wine perhaps) puked on the walkway by the pool and it stayed there for a couple of hours before hotel staff got around to cleaning it up.

The location leaves a lot to be desired too since it's a one way street to get into the property and you need to travel a very large city block to get back to the entrance. I wouldn't go walking to the parks from this property especially at night since it seems to be located in the low rent district of Anaheim.

So the upshot is that although this is one of the better choices amongst the few hotel choices available to families needing larger accommodations in Anaheim, you can expect to find the place to be crowded with everything that goes along with hotel staff trying to maintain a very busy hotel.

“Good Stay, Nice Hotel.”

Staybridge Suites Anaheim - Resort Area

Stayed for two weeks in March. Nice hotel, very large rooms, kitchen facilities a bonus. This place is well managed, everything was as it should be. Public areas clean and well presented, staff efficient and helpful when approached. Rooms cleaned every day and a big clean once a week, cleaning staff were unobtrusive and efficient. Restaurant (in the adjoining Holiday inn) has good bar and restaurant, pool table. Breakfast was big on quantity but in keeping with local tradition was quantity over substance, but more than acceptable. Pool area was good but can get busy. You will need a car ( free big car park) but the bus is cheap and good goes all around the tourist bits for $3 a day. Top shopping, The Block @ Orange, top day, the beaches. Top tip, SoCAL resident card holders get regular 2 for 1 offers for the parks, find a local to buy your tickets.

“Great family hotel”

Staybridge Suites Anaheim - Resort Area

My family had a great time at this hotel. We stayed for 5 nights and overall were very pleased. The good things about the hotel include - family friendly, amazingly large breakfast with great variety of items, full kitchen in the room with pots, pans, plates, cups, etc., nice size outside pool and jacuzzi, close to theme parks (with a shuttle stop right nearby), well kept up rooms, free laundry room for guests to use, free light snacks and drinks a few nights per week, including hamburgers and hot dogs one night. A few things that weren't so great include - rooms are a bit cramped (we had 8 people in the two bedroom suite and it was a bit crowded and if you have anyone other than little children on the sofa bed, forget about it), sound proofing was poor (we heard people on both sides of us very clearly through the walls and people talking outside the hotel and the freeway right outside were clearly heard in our room which faced the freeway, but we were tired after our long days at Disneyland, so it didn't bother us too much). Keep in mind, this hotel is about a mile away from Disneyland so if you want to be right in the middle of it all, this is not for you. We didn't mind because with small children, we drove to the theme parks rather than relying on the shuttles. Also, they don't do full housekeeping in the room everyday, which was fine with us, but if you want full service, they don't provide that here. They do share a pool with the neighboring Holiday Inn, but we didn't have any problems with that while we were there. Depending on the time of day, the dining room can be pretty full - one day we had to take our food back to our room to eat, but no big deal to us. All the staff were friendly and pleasant to deal with. Overall, a great choice for a family.

“Good Choice”

Recently stayed for 6 nights at this hotel. Front desk staff was very helpful and pleasant to deal with. As others have mentioned, this hotel is somewhat out of the way from shopping and the theme parks, but the ART shuttle makes it easy to get to and from Disney. Although the shuttle is supposed to run every 20 minutes, there are times when it is closer to 30-40 minutes between runs. Breakfast choices are the same every day, but the food quality is good. Did not have a chance to use the pool or jacuzzi, but they looked very nice. Overall, of the 3 hotels that I have stayed at in this area, I would rank this #1 and can recommend it. I would return here again in the future.
