“Great Price, Great Stay”

Holiday Inn Anaheim-Resort Area

4 of 5 stars
Los Angeles, CA
May 12, 2008

I stayed at this hotel a year ago and was very impressed with the quality of service received for the price. The hotel is currently undergoing a small facelift but nothing that would interfere with your stay. When you pull up to the hotel the entrance looks closed but the side doors are open for check in. I didn't like the fact that they didn't have registration parking but most everybody seemed to leave their cars in the turnaround. Also the Holiday inn is attached to the Staybridge Suites and you may accidently try to check into the wrong hotel like we did (we thought it was a side entrance because of construction). The only thing I can really complain about is the lack of blackout curtains. The natural light filters through and if you have had a long night it isn't convenient. Other than that great deal for the price!

“Nice hotel in great place”

Just back from great 5 night stay and hotel was much more than expected. After we booked this hotel, we were a little worried by the distance to the obvious main attractions(disney), but aslong as you don't mind a little 15min walk then it's perfect and orange at the block outlet mall is also only 15mins away in the other direction, well worth a visit for any shopper. For any lazy day there is a regular bus service to anywhere in the anaheim resort area and taxi's are easily available. The rooms are suitable for both a couple or family of 4, big beds, fairly modern and very clean. The staff at recpetion were helpful, most of the time atleast, mayb 1 or 2 of them could know a little more about the area, but overall everyone was willing to help when they could. There's a good enough restaurant in the hotel(The American Brasserie), a little expensive compared with what's in the area, but the food is nice with a good choice of steaks, burgers and pastas. Anyone seeking a little more choice or more value for money will find lots more at the anaheim garden walk, just outside disney. I can only say that I'd be more than happy to use this hotel again, it's great value and more than I expected.

“Loved this hotel”

Holiday Inn Anaheim-Resort Area

May 2, 2008

Hotel was clean, staff courteous and room was nice. Also, everything was fairly new which was nice. The only thing is that this hotel is a self-serve hotel - something I wasn't used to having spent 2 weeks prior in full-service hotels in asia. We had to unload our own bags onto a cart and cart it up to our room ourselves. Liked the fact that the hotel had a fridge and a pantry space. The crib provided to us was metal and not ideal as our 11 month old son whe is very active banged his head twice on the crib railing. Location is convenient if you have a car. We rented a luxury car for $20 a day out of Lax (Fox car rentals). Parked at Disney (Mickey Mouse structure only$11/day) and they have a tram that takes you directly to the gates and downtown disney. Less of a walk than if we stayed at a hotel at maingate and walked. Maids were efficient, very nice and friendly. We had a mouldy shower curtain which they replaced the 2nd day without us asking. The room safe was not functioning properly. Other than that we found this to be an excellent stay. Anaheim was a convenient location to go drive to all Southen California attractions such as Universal Studios, San Diego Zoo, Seaworld and Chelsea Premium Factory outlet locations.

“Not the cleanest”

Holiday Inn Anaheim-Resort Area

Mar 15, 2008

We stayed here for three nights during our trip to California. We were excited because we had stayed at their sister hotel for a couple nights and it was great. We were disappointed. First off, the location is kind of inconvenient if you're driving. They have the shuttle to Disneyland so that works well, but if you want to drive its at an odd location and hard to get out of. Check in was smooth and fast even though it was very busy. We stayed in a Kids Suite which our kids thought was fabulous. It was a great concept and it is very cool for the kids with the bunk beds and their own little room. We were very disappointed and kind of icked out though. The housekeeping left a lot to be desired. The night we checked in there were two dirty wineglasses outside our door. When we left, 3 DAYS LATER, they were still there. And we requested housekeeping everyday! They did the minimum to make it look clean. For example, they never vacuumed under the bunk beds so everytime something fell under there is was disgusting to retrieve it. Also, the kids suites are all located on the same side of the hotel which is over top of the restaurant. By 2:00pm our room smelled like grease. Especially being a weekend time when the hotel/restaurant was busy it was bad. But beware, if you open the window it actually gets worse. We did complain to the front desk and they didn't really seem to care until a line-up formed behind my husband then they gave us a night free, I think just to shut him up. On the positive side, the restaurant's food and service is great. The meals were large and truly delicious. And with the kids eat free deal, much cheaper. One note on the pool, we only used it once. It says heated but it was actually freezing. The hot tub was packed and only one die-hard kid stayed in the pool.

booked via priceline at $45 per night sun thru thursday stay. Hotel is clean, rooms were nice, beds comfortable. Free parking and free internet. The shuttles to Disney were slow in coming, and often could not get everyone on. It's a little far to walk to Disney from hotel. Also the ice machine and soda machines did not work on our floor as well on other floors I checked. The store in the lobby did not have a working fridge for the drinks they sold. Had to go to the pool area to find a working soda machine. Some of the desk staff was rude, while others were very service oriented. Kids eat free in the restaurant, only for select items on the kids menu. The food was expensive and bad. Final impression was that for the price paid it was OK. If I had paid full price I would have been really disapointed.
