“Not the cleanest”

Holiday Inn Anaheim-Resort Area

Mar 15, 2008

We stayed here for three nights during our trip to California. We were excited because we had stayed at their sister hotel for a couple nights and it was great. We were disappointed. First off, the location is kind of inconvenient if you're driving. They have the shuttle to Disneyland so that works well, but if you want to drive its at an odd location and hard to get out of. Check in was smooth and fast even though it was very busy. We stayed in a Kids Suite which our kids thought was fabulous. It was a great concept and it is very cool for the kids with the bunk beds and their own little room. We were very disappointed and kind of icked out though. The housekeeping left a lot to be desired. The night we checked in there were two dirty wineglasses outside our door. When we left, 3 DAYS LATER, they were still there. And we requested housekeeping everyday! They did the minimum to make it look clean. For example, they never vacuumed under the bunk beds so everytime something fell under there is was disgusting to retrieve it. Also, the kids suites are all located on the same side of the hotel which is over top of the restaurant. By 2:00pm our room smelled like grease. Especially being a weekend time when the hotel/restaurant was busy it was bad. But beware, if you open the window it actually gets worse. We did complain to the front desk and they didn't really seem to care until a line-up formed behind my husband then they gave us a night free, I think just to shut him up. On the positive side, the restaurant's food and service is great. The meals were large and truly delicious. And with the kids eat free deal, much cheaper. One note on the pool, we only used it once. It says heated but it was actually freezing. The hot tub was packed and only one die-hard kid stayed in the pool.

booked via priceline at $45 per night sun thru thursday stay. Hotel is clean, rooms were nice, beds comfortable. Free parking and free internet. The shuttles to Disney were slow in coming, and often could not get everyone on. It's a little far to walk to Disney from hotel. Also the ice machine and soda machines did not work on our floor as well on other floors I checked. The store in the lobby did not have a working fridge for the drinks they sold. Had to go to the pool area to find a working soda machine. Some of the desk staff was rude, while others were very service oriented. Kids eat free in the restaurant, only for select items on the kids menu. The food was expensive and bad. Final impression was that for the price paid it was OK. If I had paid full price I would have been really disapointed.

“Why stay in Disneyland?”

Holiday Inn Anaheim-Resort Area

Mar 2, 2008

Why stay in Disneyland in a normal cramped hotel room when you can stay in a suite with lots of room and a small kitchen for less price.

We stayed here for four days in December 07 while visiting Disneyland. The two room suite was perfect for us with two early teens. The hotel was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. It has an outdoor heated pool and spa which was great for some down time between park visits. There also was a video games room and internet PCs (rather expensive for internet access). We had breakfast most days in restaurant. The meals were huge so we ordered two breakfasts for the four of us.

There is a 7-11 around the corner for anything you need.

It is a good morning walk of tweny minutes to disneyland to get the legs going for the day. After a long day at the park take the bus back!

As for getting to and from LA to Disneyland I would recommend booking anything but the Supershuttle it takes forever as you stop at everyone's hotels even in LA before you go to Anaheim. I believe you can a limo for not much more.

“A great place to sleep”

It met our expectations. Room was comfortable and I would give the shower head an A+. Bath tub had a couple of chips in it but other then that the room was fine. Had one meal in the restaurant and found it to be overpriced and the food was not that good. Could not drink the water served to us in the restaurant because it had a fowl taste. A tip: Instead of doing breakfast at the hotel or at one of the spots near Disney check out Hoff's Hut less then a mile from the hotel. Fantastic breakfast at a better price without the crowds.

“good overall”

Rooms were bright, new, clean and comfortable. However, I found the bed and pillows to be less comfortable than other hotels of this level (if you're a relative local and are driving you might want to consider bringing your own pillow from home!). The bathroom was spacious and very clean - we actually really liked the different shower set-up without the bathtub - seemed more roomy with a nice stream from the showerhead. Although our room overlooked the pool and spa area we didn't use it since we stayed only one night, but we found that the pool was quiet after 10 pm and still empty at 10 am. Aside from the bed we slept well because it was very quiet - could not hear freeway noise at all nor noise of other guests. Service is spotty - front desk was indifferent, but room service for breakfast was friendly and quick - 10 minutes after we ordered! We did stay Sun-Mon so it wasn't as busy as it could have been. For the money ($72 on Hotwire) it was a great value. Shuttle to Disneyland is pretty reliable, just buy a $3 roundtrip pass from the kiosk by the stop. The restaurant was reasonable too. Good home cooking that was pretty healthy and not expensive. I would recommend this hotel for those looking for above average accommodations on a budget.
