The Marriot at Flora is a great base for exploring Prague. The location is great, in a nice neighborhood, quiet wide streets, no tourists, a far cry from the over crowded old town area. It’s a 2 minute walk to Flora underground station which has fast (10 min to centre) and frequent (7 mins) trains which cost 50p per journey or £2 per day, and is also on the same line as the link to the airport (via bus transfer at the end of the line) this worked very well and buses (No.119) are every 10 mins, even on Sunday nights. Go to the local restaurant a few blocks west called "Wings", very good food (ribs, steaks, fish etc) and friendly staff in a room full of 1950's aviation memorabilia.

Prague itself is beautiful but avoid the main streets and squares unless you enjoy being barged by tourists and as many McDonalds and KFC’s as you can cope with. Beyond is the real Prague with quiet alleyways and local parks. Vyserhad Park is a must.

The hotel itself is a very nice modern design, friendly efficient staff, nothing is a problem for them. Rooms were superb. Large windows, 2 double beds which were some of the best I have ever slept on in my life, and great dark wood furniture. The room includes a mini-fridge and safe for no extra charge. You cant be disappointed. The breakfast was very good as well, don’t miss the French Toast, it was the best I have ever had.

Overall, I would stay here again for sure, couldn’t ask for more, especially at 89 euros a night. Bargain.

just returned for a 3 nights stay at this hotel last week.

The hotel itself is good, conveniently located, room with nice and modern decoration.

I booked my room 3 months in advance through Travelocity, prepaid and confirmed. However, when I arrived at the front desk, they told me there is no room available and said they will give me another hotel which is 1 subway station away.

I said it is impossible as I booked the room 3 months in advance and has already fully paid. I insisted to talk to the General Manager, his name is Tarek Dallal. He also told me the same message that there was no room and need to put me to another nearby hotel.

To cut the story short. I said I will call Travelocity and I will complain to Marriot head office in US. After I insistted for 30 minutes argueing with him. He told me to come back at 3PM.

At 3PM when I went to the front desk again, they told me my room is ready !


With my 3 days observation, i discovered the real story was:

1) the hotel will over-book and will kick individual guest out and give the room to conference group who take up large number of room [there was a large conference group during my stay]

2) if you are as unfortunate as I was, you must insist to talk to the General Manger. The front desk guy will try to stop you but you must insist. Still the Generral Manager Tarek Dallal would not offer help unless you tell him that you will complain him to Marriot US head office.

We chose this hotel due to a great week-end rate of 90 Euro for 2 per night. Parking in the garage of the hotel was worth the effort, as it cost us 50% less than the regular price, due to being a hotel guest.
The hotel is part of a business complex in an area outside of the center. The rooms are very well appointed for this price range and seems to be brand new. The bed is hard and well equipped with foam pillows you can order in advance. Air Con worked well, the shower was a little low in pressure, but did not matter much. Brekfast was sufficient and well sorted.
Travelling from the hotel (via the close-by metro station FLORA) was very comfortable as the metro takes you right into the old city, or to the backside of the castle district. We were happy to have such a great public connection.
We will surely return!

Just returned from 3 nights at the Marriott Flora, Prague. We had a very comfortable triple room (king size bed and a sofabed, which was very comfy). Hotel staff all friendly and helpful, breakfast good and location ideal...okay, so a short metro ride to the centre, but this meant no noise from the city. We also ate in the hotel one night, and were very impressed with the menu and quality of food served.

It was so easy to get there from the airport using the 119 local bus and metro (only 20K - approx 50p!). No need to get an overpriced taxi! Oh, and the mall opposite the hotel was handy too.
