We stayed at the Azul Beach Hotel from May 18-22, 2008. My now husband and I got married there during our stay. We brought 34 friends and family with us and we couldn’t have chosen a better place. The service we received was amazing to say the least. The food was fantastic and the presentation of the food was amazing. Much more than you would expect from an all-inclusive. The best part was there were no buffets (except for breakfast which had the buffet or a la carte option). My favorite restaurant was Tainan-very good sushi! The rooms were very nice and simply decorated. A couple of parties in our group did get put in villas 11 and 12 which were not as nice so I would try to stay away from these villas. The beach was beautiful and a good size from this small resort. Yes there is some seaweed but they are constantly cleaning it up and it is not an issue. The beach was not rocky at all. The beach beds were absolutely wonderful and we pretty much laid in them everyday. We never had a problem getting a bed, however we did become good friends with the beach butlers so that helped ;) The beach butlers were to die for. They always ensured that are drinks were full and they knew what we were drinking and would just bring us drinks when they saw us getting low. I must name a couple of the beach butlers since they were the best; Alejandro-he was amazing and so friendly that the beach would not have been the same without him, Mario-another sweetie who was so attentive, and Hans and Heidi who also did a great job. The other staff were also wonderful and it is true that they knew your names after the first or second day and would say hello to you every time they saw you.
Everything with the wedding turned out great, however I was not very fond of Carolina. I didn’t find her very helpful or accommodating. From what I was told she is moving to another resort and I believe her assistant will be taking over but I am not 100% sure. Everything turned out well but I didn’t like having to deal with her. The day of the wedding there were some issues with how the tables were set-up and she gave my family a hard time and was reluctant to do what we wanted. However, in the end the wedding was beautiful and as perfect as I hoped it would be. The violinist was amazing and I would recommend him even though it is a bit pricey but it really adds to the ceremony. Unfortunately they day of our wedding it was so windy that we had to have our dinner inside one of the restaurants rather than outside on the beach but it was still very nice inside the Blue restaurant. The wait staff during our dinner was great. Even though it was windy we were able to have the dancing outside on the beach and throughout the dance the waiters were serving us drinks ect. At one point we even had the waiter’s on the dance floor with us. We had booked a photographer and to be honest we had no expectations. She was very nice and shot the kind of pictures we wanted (more candid, natural shots). We were pleasantly surprised when they arrived the following day with the pictures printed and in an album. The pictures turned out great and we were very happy with them. I know other reviews complained about their pictures but we were very happy. I also got my hair done at the hotel by Ana and she did a great job, exactly what I wanted. Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone and If you are thinking of having your wedding there I would definitely recommend it. Our entire group thoroughly enjoyed it and would all return.
