“Great Hotel - would stay again!”

We stayed in this hotel to use it as a base to Venice, and we thank our lucky stars. When we were in Mestre in rained all day, so we had to forgo visiting Venice. Luckily the hotel has movies that you can pay for that were in English. They also have an amazing restaurant with a wonderful waitstaff. We stayed there for two nights and ate at the hotel both nights. My friend and I agreed it was some of the best food we had on our trip. They also have great rooms with wonderful bathrooms - they were large and the showers had amazing pressure. All in all - I would stay here any time.

The Ai Pini is a modern hotel located just off the motorway in Mestre.

We arrived on a Sunday and got the feeling that not much happened there. It was rather empty and the bar/restaurant was closed (at 9pm).

The lobby is rather small and leads on straight to the lifts, but the service was friendly.

The rooms were very nice and modern with a large bed. The bathroom was great, and has a very large shower. There were about 2-3 English TV channels there too.

The hotel is located in rather an industrial area of Mestre, but not in a run-down area. It is quite safe to walk to the hotel from the station. There was also a lovely restaurant 5mins away from the hotel (which was very popular with the Italians).

Advantages:
- Fantastic breakfast included
- Free car parking
- Modern bedroom + bathroom

Disadvantages:
- No free internet computer/connection
- Far from Venice for the tourist

Overall, it is definately worth a stay. It is a lovely hotel at a reasonable price, but it is not in Venice (so if you want the experience of staying in Venice, then look elsewhere).
