I could never have imagined how beautiful Keukenhof is...the gardens are magificant. We got there at 8:45 am, April 19, and got the greatest parking place, just steps from the entrance. The crowds had not begun to arrive so for awhile it was like have the gardens to ourselves. By time we left at 2:45 we had pretty much seen everything and wanted to get away from the crowds. The theme this year was the Chinese Olympics. Not only are all of the wonderful colors and different types of flowers a pleasure to see, but there were places to take fun shots of our cotravelers...a bicycle with a cart of flowers on the back, very large wooden shoes to put on, house of cards...a childrens play area, the windmill which my husband climbed, canal tours to see the fields adjectant to the gardens and boats you can rent. There are
buildings full of flowers, gift shops and places to eat. We had a perfect day, beautiful weather. It should be a must for any visitor to Holland during the 8 weeks it is open.
