Having enjoyed our previous two stays, will definetly stay again! Have booked a week's stay for March 2008. Loved the location, the ease of walking to all of Rome's tourist must sees! The room, breafasts and lounge areas have been great!

We referred to Trip Advisor prior to booking this hotel and we were not disappointed. This hotel was fantastic for our family trip where granny and grandpa joined my husband, myself and 2 children. The hotel organised airport transfers which were excellent and well worth the money. Reception staff were consistently pleasant and despite being very busy, waiters were very attentive at breakfast. We had assistance with luggage to the rooms which did not disappoint - the family room was big enough for four and the granny and grandpa room had the magnificant view of the Pantheon. Breakfast was self service, freshly prepared and varied every morning. Rooms were cleaned daily and towels changed when required. The public areas were well maintained and clean. The receptionists recommended wonderful restaurants which otherwise we would never have found. It's central location means that most of Rome is accessible by foot from Albergo del Senato. This 3 star hotel deserves another star. I have recommended it to everyone who expresses an interest in travelling to Rome.

Our experience of this hotel was not unpleasant but I am very surprised at the number of 5 ratings it obtainsextoling its virtues. There is no doubt that the location of the hotel on the square next to the Pantheon is spectacular and that all the main tourist attractions are within an easy walk of the hotel. All the staff we encountered were helpful and pleasant. Our hotel room was small (Room 405) but was clean and pleasantly cool (it was 38C while we were there!!). Areas that could be improved are:
a) Breakfast : Very basic served in a small room that discouraged conversation because of the closeness of other guests and lack of privacy.
b) No Ironing Boards (due to Fire Regulations?) : After surviving at 37000 feet for several hours our clothes needed pressing to make them respectable. The hotel price for pressing clothes is a minimum of 4 Euros an article - too expensive.
c) The Rooftop Bar - Dissapointing atmosphere, needs better lighting and music. A perfect viewpoint over Rome is spoiled by lack of ambience.
d) Coffee / Tea making facilities would be an advantage in the rooms.
This is a good 3 Star hotel so don't expect 5 Star facilities, we would return to the hotel but they need to be careful not to over inflate their prices based on location alone.

This is a nice old hotel with a perfect location across from the Pantheon however, the rooms are not 5 star. They are ok with nicely appointed amenities and decent service but not five star quality. Their bar on top of the hotel is nice because it has a lovely view of the city however we were attacked by pigeons because the hotel has not put up any deterrants from the birds. The bartender had to keep swatting them with a pole. However, the view of the city is extraordinary.
