We stayed at the Marriott-Hotel in Frankfurt between Christmas 2005 and New Year. Whenever we go to Frankfurt, we like to try out a new hotel. This one is located near the fairgrounds and in easy walking distance from the main station. We got a room on the 34th floor and had a super view over the snow-covered greater Frankfurt area right up to the Taunus mountains.
Our room was relatively small, but comfortable and met basically all our needs, although a coffee maker would have been nice. Unfortunately the room was terribly hot. We turned the aircondition off which served as a heater in winter, but it didn't make much difference. The windows didn't open except for one very small part. To make matters worse, the beds were equipped with thick comforters fit to sleep in a tent at the North Pole.... After one restless night we called housekeeping and asked for a sheet which enabled us at least to sleep the following nights!
The location of the hotel is about 20 minutes walking distance from the center of town.
The breakfast buffet was great, although I always miss freshly pressed orange juice which is a standard feature of a Marriott-Hotel in e.g New York City.
We can recommend the Japanese restaurant on the ground floor, although their English is very basic.
We found the staff curtious and friendly at all times.
I think next time we'll stay at the "Maritim"-Hotel again, which is just across the road. For the same amount of money we got a bigger room and better amenities, like coffee making facilities and an indoor pool, only to mention a few!
