Nice staff, perfect room, extraordinary breakfast. The location is not perfect, but has many U-Bahn and Metrobus stations nearby, and is located in the commercial area of former West Berlin, 500m away from KaDeWe. I recommend it sincerely.

Did all the research on tripadvisor and as always was pointed in the right direction.
Great location, about an hour from the airport on the train to the Zoogarten. Fare is only E2 per person.
Did the Unsicht-bar in East Berlin, highly recommedned, very humbling, very strange.
KaDeWe department store was fab as was the foodhall on the top floor. Much better than Harrods and onlu 5 minutes walk from hotel.
Service was exceptional and the rooms and bathroom comfortable, but drinks were very pricey. We ate at the Vipiano pasta chain across the road. Excellent concept and good value

Spent three nights here straight after Christmas. Choose the hotel following the good reviews on tripadvisor and also for the great rate I got on the Swissotel website. Would still have preferred the No 1 choice - Ritz Carlton but was much more expensive!

Pros - very nice new hotel in the heart of main shopping street. Easy access from airport and also the underground train system. Great shops nearby and tour bus available around the corner. Room modern and had all the elements expected from a hotel of this category. Breakfast excellent.

Cons - maybe it was becuase I come from a country with a smoking ban indoors, but I did not like the smell of smoke in the lobby area. The fittness centre is small. Location - while it was in the tick of the shopping area - it was a little away from the historical sites. A 30 minute walk gets you to Postdamer Platz and I think this is the best location in the city to stay. Most of the cities best restaurants were here so we found ourselves heading there alot. Postdamer Platz is also an easy walk to the main tourist sites.

Would probably choose the Swissotel again for the good rate available on the hotel website.

we have just returned from a 2 night stay after visiting for the Christmas Markets. The check in was excellent, the rooms were excellent. close to U Bahn and train station and very easy to get around.
Lots of shops and bars in immediate vicinty and very safe to walk around at night. could not fault hotel rate was excellent with breakfast direct from hotel website.
Berlin was fantastic and loved every minute of it.
