This hotel was really lovely, with all you would expect in a 5 star establishment. A beautiful swimming pool and spa too.
Be warned, however, that the same glass of wine will cost you 250% (yes, I did write 250%) more per glass in the Lobby Bar than when you order it in the Vue restaurant.

“Great Hotel”

My family and I recently visited this hotel for 5 nights. In all respects I found the hotel to be outstanding. We had 2 rooms, recently redone. Our experience with the staff, room service, the bar, and dining room service was flawless. I consider myself to be very discriminating and I would not stay elsewhere in Munich. The breakfast buffet is to die for.

The location of the hotel is perfect if you want to be near the old part of the city. I have read the reviews of other travelers and I do not understand their complaints. While the hotel is decidely expensive, the cost is justified if you want a special experience.

“Comfortable Room But Many Flaws”

Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski Munchen

We travel constantly because of my husband's job and our hosts in Munich picked this hotel. We liked the location, our room was comfortable and the breakfast was fine but there were several very irritating lapses: they did not give us the messages/packages/faxes left for us at reception even though we asked for them several times when we checked in as we knew they would be waiting.

So this meant we needed to check internet because we needed to check work things which we would have known about had the messages at reception been passed on to us. First we found that the internet in the room didn't work and then it turned out they only had one one computer in the business center. I pressed them to let me use one of their computers in the lobby but that didn't seem to have printer access so it took me an hour of waiting before I could print anything out. An hour into working at the business center, they appeared with one of the faxes that had been sent to us and then 20 minutes later appeared with an envelope with documents that we needed. All of these had been left the day before so it took them over 12 hours to give us these urgent messages. Final complaints: really stingy with the shower gel. One of my pet peeves is places that give you one small tube of it when you are in a double room. Nor had the concierge heard of the museum I wanted to go to even though it was a 5-minute walk away. I got him to check the web and he found it was closed but I was surprised he had never heard of it.

In short, I would stay here again but would not expect good service or internet access. And for the prices they charge, one should be able to have both.

“Realy Bad”

Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski Munchen

We stayed at the hotel for a total of 5 nights. Two in the beginning, and then left it to go skiing and then came back and stayed for another 3 nights. I was travelling with my wife and two kids (8 & 13). The rooms were way too small compared other hotels I stayed in in Europe. The worse of the hotel was the concierge. They are argent and very hard to ask them to do anything for you. They never went out of their way to do the simplest things for us, like helping us with fining a restaurant. I can tell you more about them, but don’t want to bore you. The other worse experience was our last night. Around 2 a.m, the person staying in the room next door attempted to open our room using the connecting door. Got up from bed and held the door knob tight and kept yelling at that person in the other room to stay away. He then stopped. We immediately called the reception and they did nothing but only call the guy. Minutes later, he/she tried once more and scared the kids. I then heard someone knowing on the room door asking for a lady yelling all over the hallway. He then got in that room next to us and started yelling to a lady who was staying next door. An hour later, few more people joined them and they had a party. I can tell you...It felt like if they were with us in the same room. Whoever designed those rooms, forgot to do something about the walls between the rooms. Those in the other strange room were really loud. The kids woke up and we could not sleep all night. I called the reception may times and at the end, they offered me to stay in a different room. What a solution! Apparently, those next door were Russians and the guy at the reception did not want to confront them and since there’re known to be trouble! It’s ridiculous! There party went all night and we could not get any sleep and finally left to the airport. In a nut shell, this was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. If I were you, I would take my review very seriously and stay away from this hotel. The only good thing about the hotel is its location and the guys at the door. Good luck and please find out who is staying next door! If it’s a Russian, stay as far possible.

“Decent 50's Hotel”

Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski Munchen

This hotel is still living in the 1950's - in every respect.
While it's not a bad hotel, it's certainly not a world class luxury hotel either. The rooms are boring and depressing. It's just a solid businessman's stop over.
My room (deluxe and upgraded) was barely more than a Motel 6 standard room. As an American, I had a terrible time finding anything in the restaurant that I wanted to eat. Everything was geared to the "Bavarian" palate and was not appealing to me at all. I finally decided to sit at the bar and eat caviar and French fries.
The spa was nice, although I was a bit surprised that the nude area was coed.
I would recommend the Bayrische Hof over this hotel until they do some SERIOUS updating.
