“Fantastic Hotel, loved the entertainment.”

Arlington Hotel

Portsmouth
Dec 2, 2007

The Arlington Hotel couldn't do enough for us. I went on a weekend shopping trips with 4 friends and The Arlington made our weekend. It was easy to book and you didn't have to pay until you got there. We were welcomed and after arriving late we asked about dinner and immediately Clare arrived to look after us and find us a table. We had a lovely set dinner and then were given a table to watch the Irish show which was brilliant. The restaurant , bar area is huge and resembles a medieval banqueting hall. The staff are so organised and the service is superb. We arrived on a Thursday and had a great Irish band and the Irish dancers to watch. On the Friday these moved downstairs and we had a disco till after midnight followed by a visit to the nightclub downstairs, (this is free to guests before midnight). We ate in the other restaurant in the hotel Friday and had wonderful food and service. The rooms are extremely clean and comfortable all with ensuite and a large TV. Not everyone can have a view over the river Liffey but this did not matter. The breakfast buffet is excellent and you can eat as much as you want. Reception were very helpful and stored our cases on our last day as we had a late flight back. They also arranged a taxi for us to the airport. The hotel is near all the shopping and close to the tour buses. I will definately be going back for another visit.

“Fun....... Fun..... Fun.....”

Arlington Hotel

Nov 30, 2007

To celebrate a special birthday of mine....(40) we spent the weekend of 17Nov in this hotel. Had been to Dublin before and enjoyed an evening at the Dinner/Irish dance so decided this time we would stay here.
What can I say about this hotel... Well check in was easy and reception staff friendly, rooms were on the 3rd floor, we had read several reviews about rooms from previous guests and was a little concerned but we neednt have been. We were allocated rooms 306 which overlooked a side alley ( with a litle noise) and 307 which overlooked the generators ( again a little noise) but nothing to really worry about..
The position of this hotel is perfect, there is a bus stop right outside and just across the bridge and you are in Temple Bar area (Yeah)
Breakfasts were good and the breakfast staff were really helpful anything you wanted they could get. In the evenings there was a bit of Irish dancing with music in the bar area or you could book the Irish dance/Dinner which was downstairs, which we done on the Sunday night. Food was good, they had an Irish singer on while you ate then the dancers, who are amazingly good. But the only thing was that they werent on long enough could have done with less singing more dancing...
During the weekend we visited the Guinness Brewery and Jameson Distillery and spent afternoons in the pubs in Temple Bar.
All in all we had a wicked weekend, have come back exhausted but with smiles on our faces.
Thank You Arlington Hotel for a perfect stay will definately recommend this hotel to anyone and will definatley be back soon...

“Excellent location”

Just returned from a lovely stay at The Arlington, Dublin. Hotel is in excellent location overlooking river Liffey, near to Temple Bar, Grafton Street, O'connell Street and St Stephens. From dublin Airport the most convenient and cheapest way is to get the 747 bus from right outside the departure hall, get off at the first stop on o'connell bridge (takes about 20 - 25 mins) depending on time of day, from then walk as far as the bridge, cross over the road to the right and continue onto bachelors walk, (takes about 5 - 10 mins), then on your return to the airport the bus stop is moreorless opposite side of the road, leaves about every 15 mins through the day.
Staff at the Arlington very helpful and friendly, breakfast (buffet style - cereals, fruit, yoghurts, traditional irish breakfast, plenty of tea/coffee, fruit juice. We also tried the bar menu in the evening, which was nice.
Entertainment in the hotel good, singers and irish dancing. Can be busy but worth seeing.
I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is a gem. We had a lovely stay last night. From our arrival the staff went out of their way to be helpful. The room was lovely and the bathroom spotless. There was such a good atmosphere. I would recommend this hotel to any visitors. We missed the entertainment at the hotel as we were at a concert but were told by other guests from abroad that it was very good.
The hotel is so central with a stop for the Dublin tour bus just outside. O Connell Street is very closeby and the shopping is good.
