My husband and I are in our early 30's and enjoy good service and quality. My husband travels a lot and usually stays in the Ritz or the Marriot Hotels. This hotel is not a Ritz, and it’s a bit old but it won't disappoint you. The hotel is great for families as well as people who just want to relax on a vacation. The hotel grounds are beautiful and the hotel is kept well clean. The staff is very professional, works very hard, and goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable. The food is excellent in the Da Vinci restaurant, my husband and I ate there every night. Pina Colada has great grill shrimp, and La Paloma is just average. We really enjoy the pool with the roman style bath seats and the pool bar next to the beach. The pools are shallow about 4ft but you can still enjoy a swim. The beach is beautiful, but is not suitable for swimming, as is not in the entire coast. We highly recommend a massage right under the pool area, you can relax and enjoy the ocean breeze..ahhh. The hotel is conveniently located in the hotel zone. You can either catch a taxi for $7.00 downtown or walk right to the bus stop right outside the hotel and take the bus. We will recommend taking the bus that is blue and says One, it costs $1.00, regular buses has no AC and it costs $.60 cents. Anybody who approaches you to sell a time share is not hotel staff, but various tour operators’ representatives who try to sell you tours or time shares. If you are not interested just say NO, thanks and they won't bother you. Otherwise, if you decide to listen, they will take 2 hours of your time and give you free discounts. I did some great scuba diving in Cozumel with Aquatours, they have a small operation located inside the hotel. My husband golf at the Hilton Hotel, we thought the golf was to overprice, but you can golf until you drop. We drove by the other golf courses in Cancun, but did not like them at all. We hear the golf course at the Moon palace is great too. The hotel will ask you to sign for everything you order, but all prices are in $ mexican pesos, not $ dollars. Lastly, I will recommend to see a sunset in Isla Mujeres, you can take the ferry for $15.00 round trip at the embarcadero. Once there, you can rent a golf cart very cheap. Hope my review helps.
