We are just back from a week's vacation in Vieques, staying at EvaMer. We had an absolutely fabulous trip, made special by Marc's fantastic Vieques advice and helpfulness both before and during our stay. The place has a gorgeous view of the Atlantic, and the cottages and studios are stylish and secluded. EvaMer is a perfect fit for a Vieques vacation. We are already planning our next trip!

We stayed 5 nights in late January-early February. Mark, the resident manager, was very accommodating. He picked us up at the airport, arranged a vehicle rental, recommended what beaches to visit, where to snorkel, provided us with snorkeling gear. After we went on a grueling kayaking/snorkeling adventure, he was able to arrange a massage for both of us on very short notice.

We fell in love with Tinka, a female boxer dog, who was very friendly, especially so after we shared some crackers and cheese with her.

My husband and I just got married in Vieques and we chose Evamer for our accommodations for us as well as my family. We also had our reception there for approximately 75 people. It was AMAZING! Marc, the caretaker, was awesome. He made sure everyone had what they needed to feel completely comfortable and helped us with making the reception as wonderful as it was.

My husband and I met in Vieques about 4 years ago and haven't been back in about 3 years. It was so good to see everyone and have our families experience the wonderful place where we met. My family couldn't have been happier about Evamer. The ambiance is relaxing, intimate and breathtaking, Tinka and Mr. T are super cute and sweet - Leo and Louie give them their love - Marc was more than helpful and the party was rockin'!!!

I hesitate to give a glowing review here, if only to preserve EvaMer as a secret shared among people lucky enough to have stumbled upon Vieques and stayed in one of these simple, but elegant rooms by the sea. But Marc and the owners deserve nothing less than lavish praise. In short, I probably won't write anything new that you haven't already read here in other posts. Yes, Marc is excellent — you can take his advice as gospel on beaches, restaurants, etc (in the few instances we listened to our guide book rather than him, my wife and I were sorely disappointed.) EvaMer itself is quiet, clean and completely laid back (Tinka, the boxer you've read about, likes to keep watch over the guests — in exchange for lots of belly rubs.) EvaMer is the perfect match to the island. I just hope they're not booked solid next time we return.
