Stayed here 2 nights pre-cruise. Hotel is not in tip-top shape but it's not exactly run-down either.
Our room was ok, carpet was somewhat worn, could be re-painted, beds were ok and bathroom was ok. Breakfast was good - ok, well... typical. There was a good selection of restaurants within 2 or 3 blocks. Beach was down a short street (Holiday Inn Express was there) and across a park. Beach was beautiful.
Parking at hotel was nearly non-existant - I counted like 12 or 14 spaces! unless they have more parking somewhere else. But that was ok, because we took cabs to and from. There was a pharmacy and C-store nearby and Sunday morning we walked about 4 blocks to a catholic church for mass (in english) before our cruise.
Would I recommend or stay again, hmmmm.
I'd be tempted to try the Holiday Inn Express across the street (well sort-of) but I've read some not so hot reviews about that one too.
So on balance, because this was just a pit-stop, I'd recommend it as such for the budget minded.
