We went to Hotel Pierre for a bachelorette party and had a great stay! Our first impression was, "Wow, nice!" The lobby is modern and inviting with a flat panel TV, white lounge chairs with low tables. Very chic! The hotel is a 10 minute walk to the Ocean Beach and 10-15 minute walk to Condado Beach, where all the big hotels, like Marriott, are. A convenient, 24 Hour Pueblo, which is a grocery store, is directly across from the hotel. Each room has a mini fridge and microwave oven. We had 2 rooms next eachother, the corner room (601) is big with a large bathroom. Housekeeping was attentive and straightened the room well after we trashed the place for the bachelorette party. Front desk was friendly and accommodating to our needs. Our flight was at 5, so they allowed us to stay until 2pm, without charging us. They're expanding their hotel and seems to be in the midst of renovating the facilities. The construction is next door and didn't bother us a bit. Once construction is done, it'll be part of the Pierre Plaza, which seems to be an up-and-coming site. The immediate surrounding area is a bit run down but is in the process of modernizing and expanding. No worries - the area is very safe. There's taxi service in front of the hotel to Old San Juan and Isla Verde, which is only a 10 minute drive - $13 for 5 passengers, and 15 minute ride to the airport for $16. The pool is small but clean and surrounded by nice landscaping, lounge chairs for sun-worshippers and shaded tables for eating the free continental breakfast in the morning. There's a small gym (a bit obsolete) and business center for e-mail. Also, there's a restaurant - Swiss Table, on site for dinner and drinks. On Sunday, they have a lunch buffet for $27 and features a piano player as you enjoy your meal. The only negative thing I can write is - bring your own lotion and conditioner, they don't offer it. I'll post pictures later. Overall, we got much more than we paid for and I would stay there again!

I stayed in this hotel for three nights. the hotel is very clean and the rooms were good size. the only problem was the neighborhood between the hotel and the condado, DO NOT WALK IT ALONE AT NIGHT. but overall i would definitely stay their again.

I went on a cruise leaving from Porto Rico and I stayed there 2 nights : 1 night before my cruise, 1 night after.
On my arrival, my luggages were lost. The staff has been very helpful for my first night. the lady at the front desk gave me a toothbrush with toothpaste and helped me to find somewhere to buy all I needed for the next morning.

Rooms are little old but quite clean. Don't be scared with the lift when you go in, it is really crampy but rooms are better.

If you are looking for a hotel that is clean and in a great location without being too high-priced, this is a great place to stay. It's within easy walking distance to nice beaches and a cab-ride from Old San Juan and more great beaches. It's two blocks from the main street of the Condado district, which attracts many tourists to its shops and restaurants; and it's also within walking distance of the Santurce district, which has a market and restaurants frequented by the local population, if you want to see something of more authentically Puerto-Rican. If you are a Starbucks addict, as we are, you will find them in easy reach here. The rooms are clean and spacious. Our family had two rooms, one with one queen bed and one with two doubles. Both were quite adequate in space and furniture; the rooms and bathrooms were clean and well-maintained. The breakfast ends a little early for vacationers, being from 6 - 9 a.m., but it's adequate, with croissants, pastries, cereal, toast, coffee, juice. We thoroughly enjoyed having breakfast outside in the sunshine and breeze in the pool area. We slept soundly every night, noticed no noise at all. There is a coffee maker in each room, and a refrigerator. The air conditioning works quite well. The weight room equipment was not all working, however. It's an attractive hotel, and the service was good. Anyone who is not totally spoiled and looking for the luxury of a big beach-side mega-hotel will find this Best Western a good choice. We would definitely go back here; it even satisfied our son who does prefer to stay in the luxury spots and was concerned after reading some of the more negative reviews.
