“A Wonderful Getaway!”

My husband and I just returned from Negril Gardens last weekend. This was our first vacation in 10 years (since before children), and we had such a great experience at Negril Gardens!

We chose this resort over a 5 star luxury resort in Runaway Bay for the same price - and we are so glad that we did! The 7 mile beach is heaven and Negril Gardens is a quaint little resort with a lot of charm, wonderful staff, clean rooms and excellent food!

We stayed on the beachside, and were glad that we did, although we were just far enough away from the restaurant noise. We enjoyed walking down the path to the pristine beach every morning, and taking in the beautiful view from the restaurant at every meal!

At the airport we chatted with people who stayed at a very large luxury resort in Ocho Rios and they weren't very impressed. The resort was so big, they had to take a shuttle down to the beach! We just loved our little resort and the great staff - wish we were still there!

“WOW !! We will go back Soon!!!!”

I don’t even know how to really convey how beautiful this place is. It is small and intimate so the staff really do get to know you a bit. they are all so wonderful and are always helpful. We were on a girls trip and felt very safe here at this resort we had vendors up and down the beach which can be very entertaining, but the security is right there and the vendors are not allowed to stop on the beach for very long before they are asked to move on we never once felt like we weren’t safe.
Everything is very easily available like , beach lounges, beach towels, Leroy is one of the life guards there who was so helpful with all of our needs, he would actually ask us where we would like to sit on the beach and bring us our lounge chairs. All of this kind of treatment sure does make it fell like you are on vacation. This is one of the nicest beach it is very calm and crystal clear water, clean white sand. We brought our own float beds that you could sit up on and let me tell you, they came in so useful and well used because of the water being so calm.

The food was so tasty and there is more than enough variety, with fresh veggies and fruit at every meal. The resort has a BBQ on the beach for everyone and WOW!!! was it not only a beautiful setting but it was also great food and just a fun night overall.

We went to the bar every night and 3 nights they have a little band come in and entertain everyone which was a great time. On the other nights that they aren’t playing don’t worry you will still have fun as the entire bar staff are just a blast. Andrew is a blast and certainly is a very entertaining bar tender and also very talented at balancing drinks on his head. They really do seem to enjoy there work. the Make My Day drinks are to die for.
Alfred's Bar is right next door the three nights a week they have a concert, we sat on our little veranda and listen to the sounds of the music of Jamaica and had a drink from the bar it goes till about 4am and it is pretty loud but it never bothered us.... So if you really are a light sleeper and want quiet at night the Garden would be much quieter. We took a walk over to the Garden side to see it and it is so cute, they have crossing guards that stop traffic for you so you can cross safely. The spa is on the Garden side as well and a wonderful relaxing place to visit as well. We did take advantage of the spa services including a massage right on the beach.
They do have original carvings and jewelry you can purchase right there on the beach from Carver, he sits there and carves many different things and is very talented and such a nice funny person, you can sit there and watch his craft while sitting on the beach.... What a gorgeous setting.
They have a meet and greet night where Mr. Gordon Jr introduces the staff to everyone and they have a special buffet set out with delicious foods and deserts. They also have a draw for prizes, it was quite alot of fun.
We feel we have found our 2nd home here at this little resort. We are planning to return in September this year, we just didn’t get enough of this place.

We had no problems with upgrades and no reservations being kept, I think we got way more than we even expected. We never had an issue with the water temp for the shower. I honestly couldn't find one thing that I would complain about for the $$ that we paid and the beauty of the location and people.

“No problems, no hassles”

Grand Pineapple Beach Negril

Small, friendly, paradise.

No hassles with water sports, beach lounges, beach towels, vendors, and the friendliest staff we've seen. This is the best beach we've been to: calm crystal clear water, clean white sand, shade or sun as you wish.

The food was varied, well prepared and tasty with fresh veggies and fruit at every meal. Try the ribs at the barbeque: wonderful! And some really great soups. Blue Mountain coffee is one of the great coffees of the world.

There's live music three nights a week in the bar, and live performances at Alfred's Bar next door three other nights. You can sit on your veranda on the beach side in the evening, enjoy a drink, and listen to great entertainment. Garden side guests said it was really quiet over there.

If you're looking to relax, this place is perfect.

“Almost Perfect!!!”

As previous comments submitted,we too had problems when we arrived with being"upgraded". However our idea of upgrade is not Sesame Street characters painted everywhere, and walking around alive! With some polite complaining and following up with phone calls,we only had one night in "upgrade".
Please Mr. Gordon, honor reservations as they should be,people are flying a long way to your resort, and these seem to be too common,as other guests told us nearly the exact same stories.
This could definitely alter any future plans to your resort,as we are hoping to return to Jamaica.
That said, after only half a day at the Gardens, one night on garden side, rest of week on beach side as we had paid for,all was forgotten!
Staff could not have been friendlier, but in no way overbearing, and all were a pleasure to meet, and we left there feeling like we knew them as friends, not as staff.
Clyde,Andrew,Nicola,Marvette,Janelle the "dancing"cook,Keesha,Leroy,Michael and everyone else. Thank You.
We would recommend your resort to anyone based on the staff, food, beach and relaxed setting anytime. For anyone wanting a home feel, with great people, including fellow guests we met, this is the place!
Yes the water was not always hot,or on,but every thing else made it seem "not important".We highly suggest taking the tours,as we took the ATV,and Mayfield River walk,to meet and see the real Jamaica, not just a beach. Tour buses were spotless, and drivers very informative and pleasant to talk to,and told us lots about how life is on the island for them.Even the people trying to sell us stuff on the beach were nothing but friendly! Their selling technique is different than we are accustomed to,but once we were used to it,a simple "no Thanks" was all you had to say, then we asked them how they were doing? Very pleasant to talk to.
Thank you again to the staff, those of you we got to know a little more, extra thanks. I can still hear Andrew singing behind the bar!

“Reservation WAS NOT held”

If you want a short vacation ruined, do not go here or book your reservations through Expedia.

When arriving at Negril Gardens (after a long day of travel) we were told that we were "upgraded" and moved to another hotel.
We stayed at the other hotel for 2 nights then made to pack our bags to move back to Negril Gardens.

When contacting Expedia about this problem, I was told it was Negril Gardens' issue.

So if you're planning a short vacation - or any vacation, book with another hotel / travel-site that can uphold what youve paid for and not given something else - and told your "lucky".

Vacations are meant for memories. If this is how you want your vacation to be remembered - go ahead and take your chances.
