Gosh!!! Where do I start - We, (my teenage son, neice and nephew travelled to Jamaica on 25th May 2008 due to a family member who was very unwell. We had a very exhausting and tiring 8 days, therefore for the rest of our vacation we wanted a comfortable, relaxing 'me' time to finish off with. I was told about The Palms in Negril. Wow!!! Upon arriving at the resort, it clearly stood out from the other hotels - as QUALITY. The reception staff was very helpful once we had arrived, he made us very comfortable, showed us around the resort, and he arranged a meal for us. Well, it was not what I was expecting, the food was fantastic- A-La-Carte, the chef and the staff couldnt do more for us. It was beautiful sitting by the beach on a lovely resort eating excellent food. Bear in mind we havent even seen the rooms yet. This I was not expecting, the rooms were amazing, very clean, very modern and luxurious. The rooms are double rooms , however they are so big, that the receptionist staff arranged for another Queen size bed to be put in both our rooms, it was now a twin room, you would never guess the difference. The resort is beautifully lined with Palm Trees, and other tropical plants, you can smell the tropical wood that is part of the decor. Mr Nelson who designed the resort is also the owner, a very nice, softly spoken gentleman. He was so helpful, we didnt want to leave. We booked for 5 nights half board, and this included breakfast, lunch and dinner with a drink with each meal. Drinks during the day is paid for separately. Every day was amazing, the bar staff, the chef, the waiters, everybody was wonderful, There is soft reggae music in the back ground, and the resort is right on the beach front. You are close to water activities, so my son and nephew had a ball jet sking and participating in the water sports.
The Resort does offer all-inclusive if preferable, it is worth it. It has just been re-vamped from a run down hotel, and the result is out of this world. There is still a little construction going on, but you would never guess it.
This is my second visit to Negril, and I stayed at Rondel Village that is room only, but if you are looking for full/half board or all-inclusive this is the one for you. The Resort also offers room only if so wish. Ask whether I will go back again? Not questionable. Go and see for yourself you will not be disappointed.
