We are beyond satisfied with our stay at the Royal Caribbean. It was the trip of a lifetime. We were married in a gazebo right on the ocean. It was beautiful and easy. We just had to show up. They did the rest. We did go all out with the swim-up river suites and a butler for the week, which caused us to have a completely relaxing worry-free vacation. They took care of us from the time we landed until we got back to the airport. The food was fantastic. The restaurants were all so good we couldn't pick a favorite. I recommend this resort to everyone I know. We will definately return in the future. There is one negative though. There is construction going on to expand the swim up river suites and the lazy river, so there is some noise. We didn't mind though. It was pretty easy for us to block out.

“Such a disappointment, reviews were right on”

I have read the reviews about Sandals RC good and bad and prayed the good would outweigh the bad. But, they did not. First let me say, my husband and I are on a tight budget. Sandals has always been our DREAM trip and when we saw the sale they were having, we decided to bite the bullet and go this year. We have not gone on a true one week vacation in 8 years so we were so excited. However, at Sandals RC, the employees (not all, but a good majority) were extremely rude and did not know the first thing about common decency and respect. The entertinment here was also BORING. Our room was not at all what we expected with a slit in the door allowing ants, mosquitos and lizards free access to us. When taken to our room we asked about AC, the gentleman turned it on and said oh good it's working. And it did work the entire time, we did stay cool. We would wear bug spray in the room which slowed down the bites except during the night. I would strongly advise to wear bugspray in the evening too when going out to dinner. We didn't use it during the day, we didn't notice the need due to the wind. We stayed in a Royal Premium room and there was nothing Royal about it. The bathroom faucets had been in place since the establishment was built and the sink and shower fauctes broke off leaving me scurrying to call the front desk to come shut off the water. Taking a shower was an experience in which you would cry, scream and cuss due to the constant changing from scalding hot to freezing cold temperature of the water. We asked for bottled water 3 days in a row and had to complain to high heaven before we got any. These people hate giving you water! We enjoyed the food very much, the water was beautiful though you could only swim a short distance and then it is roped off. You are constantly bothered by "vendors" on kayaks selling anklets, wooden figurines and oh yes, any drugs you would like. It's nearly impossible to avoid them and we stayed out of the water a lot to avoid them, they didn't know how to take no for an answer. The last straw for us was our second to last day. We set up snorkeling and rushed to get there on time only to find out the boat was broken, nobody called to tell us, no sorry, no nothing, they could have cared less. An hour later we rushed over to catch the ferry to the private island, oh it's closed today for a teacher day. That was when we went to the customer service manager, Leighton and let him have it. He was very nice and wished our stay was longer so he could right the wrongs. He gave me a 50% coupon for the spa and sent about 10 bottles of water to our room. When we left we had 6 unopened bottles of water. Hopefully the next guests to stay in our room will benefit from our complaints. I will say this, we took the shuttle to Sandals Montego Bay 3 nights for dinner and found it to be a much more fun, active place with truly nice people. I so wish we had stayed there. Sandals RC is the biggest waste of money we've ever spent and to be our dream trip, it was a huge disappointment. I don't think I would ever stay at another Sandals again, due to this experience, and we told Leighton, the CS Manager the same thing.

“Royal Caribbean”

Okay, close your eyes, take a minute, leave your work, family and worries behind. Open those eyes now and see the warm smiles of staff and guests, the beauty of the sea, and the magical surroundings. After the day of travel, and you are wary you walk into the resort to be greeted by staff with a cool cloth to wipe away your travels and gives you a glass of champagne. (NOW HOW MUCH GREATER CAN IT GET). You are now in paradise. You look over the resort, see the blue sea and the smiles on all the guests and staff faces.

My husband and I have been going to the Sandals Royal Caribbean for the last 5 years and each year it gets better and we decide to extend our stay for the next year. We can't get enough of the Jamaican. Our family and friends ask us why we go there year after year and not try something different, our answer we have done the different and we can’t get enough of Jamaica and the Royal Caribbean.

One of the nice things about Sandals is the Soon Come Back program they have implemented. Not only do you get a great rate, a credit for the resort, you know when and where you are going the next year (this way you can coordinate with your new friends to join them again the next year). Start that countdown now for next year. Every Monday I receive an email from my husband Mike, with the weeks we have left to return to Royal Caribbean (what a way to start the week off with a countdown to return to your favorite place – we have 48 ½ weeks to go).

I can’t tell or express in words how wonderful the staff at Royal Caribbean are. No matter what happens they are there to fix it to your satisfaction. There is nothing too small or too large for them to help you with it. This is from the Manager, General Manager, Concierge Manager, house keeping , maintenance and the sports staff, they are there for YOU (you don’t see that in your job).

So get on the web go to Sandals.com and book your vacation. Pack your suitcase, (remember to bring books to enjoy when you are sunbathing), and get ready for a trip of your life.

My husband and I just got back from our 1 year anniversary trip. We spent May 5th - May 13th at Sandals Royal Carribean. Overall we had a great time and will deffinitley go back. The food and service was wonderful. We were automatically upgraged to a concierge level room when we arrived which was great because we had a fully stock bar, refrigerator, and 24 hour room service. The entertainment was also pretty decent. This resort is layed back but still fun. We are glad we didn't stay at Sandals Montego Bay as we heard it described as "ghetto" and "spring break." We were a bit ticked off when we first arrived because there was ALOT of construction going on and the majority of it was right next to our building. However, you couldn't hear it in the room but you could if you were hanging out on the balcony but it was too hot to sit out there anyway so it really didn't bother us. You couldn't hear it anywhere on the property either because they are playing music that drowns out the sound of the hammers. The beaches were decent but there was ALOT of seaweed, especially at the private island, which has a clothing optional side to it and a clothed side. The staff was excellent. A few expected tips, which you are not supposed to do, but for the most part you didn't have to tip the employees. Be prepared to take a lot of money to tip other people such as drivers, tour guides, and anyone else you happen to walk by as everyone thinks that you are rich and need to give them money for doing absolutley nothing. That did get very annoying but we learned that you just don't make eye contact with them! The only other thing that was annoying was the peddlers circling the resort on their surf boards like sharks trying to sell you their over priced junk and a numerous assortment of drugs. The resort is also only about 15 minutes at the most from the airport which was really nice because you don't have to spend half your time traveling to the airport. You will however have planes flying over the resort all day long. You will get used to it. Also, remember to take bug spray. I read this on other people's reviews and was so glad I remembered because you will get ate up by bugs at night. Overall we had a great time and will deffinitly go back.

“Okay, but would never go back”

We recently stayed at Sandals Royal Caribbean for 4 nights/5 days. Overall the stay was okay but far from 5 stars as listed. The room we were given was directly above the front entrance. Guests were being bused in and bused out frequently making our stay very noisy. The safe in our room was not working. We asked the front desk to have it fixed several times - it never happened. The music during the day was played from CD's that constantly skipped. For the most part the staff was friendly although there were some attitude from the pool bartenders.
Since this resort is 10 minutes from the airport you will hear the frequent planes flying above.
