Okay, close your eyes, take a minute, leave your work, family and worries behind. Open those eyes now and see the warm smiles of staff and guests, the beauty of the sea, and the magical surroundings. After the day of travel, and you are wary you walk into the resort to be greeted by staff with a cool cloth to wipe away your travels and gives you a glass of champagne. (NOW HOW MUCH GREATER CAN IT GET). You are now in paradise. You look over the resort, see the blue sea and the smiles on all the guests and staff faces.

My husband and I have been going to the Sandals Royal Caribbean for the last 5 years and each year it gets better and we decide to extend our stay for the next year. We can't get enough of the Jamaican. Our family and friends ask us why we go there year after year and not try something different, our answer we have done the different and we can’t get enough of Jamaica and the Royal Caribbean.

One of the nice things about Sandals is the Soon Come Back program they have implemented. Not only do you get a great rate, a credit for the resort, you know when and where you are going the next year (this way you can coordinate with your new friends to join them again the next year). Start that countdown now for next year. Every Monday I receive an email from my husband Mike, with the weeks we have left to return to Royal Caribbean (what a way to start the week off with a countdown to return to your favorite place – we have 48 ½ weeks to go).

I can’t tell or express in words how wonderful the staff at Royal Caribbean are. No matter what happens they are there to fix it to your satisfaction. There is nothing too small or too large for them to help you with it. This is from the Manager, General Manager, Concierge Manager, house keeping , maintenance and the sports staff, they are there for YOU (you don’t see that in your job).

So get on the web go to Sandals.com and book your vacation. Pack your suitcase, (remember to bring books to enjoy when you are sunbathing), and get ready for a trip of your life.

My husband and I just got back from our 1 year anniversary trip. We spent May 5th - May 13th at Sandals Royal Carribean. Overall we had a great time and will deffinitley go back. The food and service was wonderful. We were automatically upgraged to a concierge level room when we arrived which was great because we had a fully stock bar, refrigerator, and 24 hour room service. The entertainment was also pretty decent. This resort is layed back but still fun. We are glad we didn't stay at Sandals Montego Bay as we heard it described as "ghetto" and "spring break." We were a bit ticked off when we first arrived because there was ALOT of construction going on and the majority of it was right next to our building. However, you couldn't hear it in the room but you could if you were hanging out on the balcony but it was too hot to sit out there anyway so it really didn't bother us. You couldn't hear it anywhere on the property either because they are playing music that drowns out the sound of the hammers. The beaches were decent but there was ALOT of seaweed, especially at the private island, which has a clothing optional side to it and a clothed side. The staff was excellent. A few expected tips, which you are not supposed to do, but for the most part you didn't have to tip the employees. Be prepared to take a lot of money to tip other people such as drivers, tour guides, and anyone else you happen to walk by as everyone thinks that you are rich and need to give them money for doing absolutley nothing. That did get very annoying but we learned that you just don't make eye contact with them! The only other thing that was annoying was the peddlers circling the resort on their surf boards like sharks trying to sell you their over priced junk and a numerous assortment of drugs. The resort is also only about 15 minutes at the most from the airport which was really nice because you don't have to spend half your time traveling to the airport. You will however have planes flying over the resort all day long. You will get used to it. Also, remember to take bug spray. I read this on other people's reviews and was so glad I remembered because you will get ate up by bugs at night. Overall we had a great time and will deffinitly go back.

“Okay, but would never go back”

We recently stayed at Sandals Royal Caribbean for 4 nights/5 days. Overall the stay was okay but far from 5 stars as listed. The room we were given was directly above the front entrance. Guests were being bused in and bused out frequently making our stay very noisy. The safe in our room was not working. We asked the front desk to have it fixed several times - it never happened. The music during the day was played from CD's that constantly skipped. For the most part the staff was friendly although there were some attitude from the pool bartenders.
Since this resort is 10 minutes from the airport you will hear the frequent planes flying above.

“Excellent Carribbean getaway”

The Sandals Royal Carribean is an excellent getaway destination. The friendly staff and excellent accomodations are just the beginning of what makes the Sandals resorts so enjoyable.

It is a cozy European village style resort with fine dining to beach bar and grills, excellent water acitivites, and a wonderful staff. The resort is filled with lush tropical gardens on every pathway, and is kept in great condition. The entertainment onsite was wonderful, and you never feel like you have to leave the resort just to find stuff to do. Of course if you want to venture out the friendly staff will accomodate and help plan any activities you wish.

My wife and I have been traveling to Jamaica for many years now, starting with our honeymoon. Our first trip was to the Sandals Grande Ocho Rios property. It was a memorable experience that hooked us on the great people and beautiful island of Jamaica.

We stayed the following year at the Ritz Carlton in Jamaica on a business vacation. While it was a nice property, the food and entertainment was nowhere near the Sandals experience.

The best part of Sandals that my wife and I enjoy, is that each destination has a charm all it's own - so we keep going to each one to enjoy it's particular flair and different experiences. The quality of service and accomodations remain excellent at each resort, which shows just how well all of their properties are managed.

To sum it up - From the moment you literally step off the plane and through customs - Sandals treats you with a warm and luxurious welcome. With drinks and VIP treatment from your arrival all the way until the day you leave, you can be sure that Sandals will treat you very well. They even brought drinks and pastries onto the transport when we left!

My family and I will surely be staying at another great Sandals destination next year!!

“Great Time at the Royal Caribbean”

Sandals Royal Caribbean

4 of 5 stars

My husband and I recently returned from a one week stay at the Royal Caribbean. We have stayed at one other Sandals property in St. Lucia, The Grande, which was an amazing resort, so our expectations of staying at the Royal Caribbean were high. We booked a Grand Luxe Beachfront room on the second floor of the Sandringham building which was just perfect. We had a great balcony with a beautiful view of the ocean along with some of the most amazing sunsets we have ever seen.

The beach is on the small side however we never had a problem finding a lounge chair and the resort was pretty full the week we were there. There was always a shady place if the sun became too much. The beach was raked and cleaned every morning. The staff there work very hard to keep the grounds clean.

There is some construction going on for the new Swim Up River Suites which did not interfere or disrupt our stay at all. The area is blocked by a high decorative wall so you really don't even notice the work going on and there really was no noise to speak of that you would know work is being done.

The main pool seems to be the spot where the party people hang. Lots of activities and contests going on there so if you like to participate in lots of Resort events, that is the place to be. The beach is much quieter.

There of lots of choices for places to eat. The food was decent. The beachgrill has a varied menu to choose from for lunch and snacks. Look for Omar there, he's the one with the warm smile and awesome personality. The Regency also has a variety of choices when doing buffet style, whether it's breakfast or lunch. They have a regular menu for dinner which also had many choices. The Cricketeers Pub was great for casual dining and the staff there are very friendly and entertaining. Theon and Kevin I miss you both!! The return guest dinner was fantastic, probably the best meal we had while there. We went to Sandals Montego Bay one evening for dinner at the Italian restaurant. It was a just "ok" in our opinion. The airplane that took off scared the crap out of me, it felt like it was right on top of us.

We did one offsite excursion to Dunns River Falls which was a blast. Our guide was lots of fun and the climb up the falls was something not to be missed. Our shuttle driver, "Hutch" was fantastic also. He gave a great history of the island along the way there and was kind enought to stop at Sandals Dunns River so we could all have lunch. We were so blown away by this property that we booked our next Sandals visit there. Something to look forward to!!

We booked a couples massage at the Red Lane Spa which was fabulous. My maseusse, Sundries, has the "magic touch." She was so good I went back for another before we left. Well worth the money.

We had a wonderful time at the Royal Caribbean and would definitely go back again sometime. The only annoyance the entire time were the "locals" in the water selling their beads. They will call out to you and try and sell you something as soon as they see a new face. If you are polite and say no thanks, they will leave you alone. They did not interfere with our time at the Royal. We were there to relax and have a good time and we did!! If you are looking for a place to unwind and relax, pack your "chill" and head to the Royal Caribbean.
