“excellent !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

LTI Beach Resort Punta Cana

I loved this hotel, although having mixed reactions when I first arrived but that just shows that you can't judge a book by its cover!
The hotel is very nice with a lot of trees and plants, athough i do advise in the morning & the evening spray some insect repellent around otherwise you find the next morning you will have loads of little red bumbs on your arm.!!
the beach & pool are fantastic the sand is so soft and there are loads of places to sit.
There are activities during the day which are soo fun, I really enjoyed these and the animation team are ever soo friendly and you can really get to know them.
I played Volleyball and did water aerobics & stretching but do not attempt to do volleyball & darts at the same time like i did its very hard work...!!
On the beach there is a water sports centre and I do advise doing something. I did Parasailing and it was amazing its completely different up in the air looking down on the hotels and the sea.
In the evening there is entertainment & a bar called the Calypso bar..
the food is lovely, for breakfast & dinner there is a buffet and for lunch there is another buffet which has things like burgers & hotdog. There is also an Italian restaurant & another one which open on alternitive days..
I also recomend going on the half day trip to this little floating island where you can swim with sting rays & sharks and much more !!!.

I loved this hotel and would love to go back
AMAZING !*!

“Loved LTI”

My husband and I stayed at LTI from 5/11 to 5/18 and loved it!! We are both in our late 50’s.

The resort was really nicely kept, everywhere you looked there were people working on keeping the grounds clean. We were in room 4203, yes it is a little dated and the window in the bathroom is downright weird, but how long are you in the room? I actually found the bed very comfortable. I usually wake up with a backache at home, not on these beds. Our week was spent walking or sitting on the beach, sitting on the balcony, eating and drinking, and going to the casino.

We found all of the people working there tried very hard to be friendly and be understood. We usually ate in room 2 because it is non-smoking, and the waiter there would bring my husband a beer and me a white wine without asking after the first time we ordered it. The bartenders would try and get us to say the drinks we wanted in Spanish, but we couldn’t seem to get it right. We only speak English and a few Spanish words, but there was always a “hola” and “Buenos dias”. If you tried speaking in Spanish, there was a bright smile from anyone who you were trying to communicate with. Any lack of communication was entirely our fault as we are in their country and we do not speak their language.

The food was good, always a big selection. We do not usually use salt on our food, so we did find it a bit salty, but certainly delicious. We ate at the beach restaurant for lunch and the chicken was excellent on the grill. We did find the Trattoria a little strange as the only a la carte meal was individual pizzas. The pizza was great though. We did not go to the International specialty restaurant.

One thing I was totally surprised about was the timeliness of the staff at LTI. Having traveled extensively in the Caribbean we have always found “island time” to be the rule. Not here, the evening entertainment was always on time, if not a bit early!! When we were asked what time the porters should come to pick up our bags on the day we left, we said 10:300 a.m. At 10:30 a.m. they were at the door.
Evening entertainment was a bit hokey, but still ok. It did surpass any other all-inclusive resorts where we have stayed that had the evening shows. The shows certainly didn’t rival a cruise ship, but was not bad at all. The circus was good and a lot of evenings they got kids involved in dancing, etc. and they seemed to love it. You could see that the entertainment crew worked hard for many hours per day.
The beach was fantastic. One day sitting between 2 of the bent palm trees I felt like I was in a Corona beer commercial. We walked the beach almost every day for about an hour. I liked our beach and it’s being small resort better than what I could see around us. I like the way the resort is done in natural colors to blend in with the vegetation. It looked more natural to me. We went up and walked around a few of the resorts to get a feel for if they would suit us. One resort a ways down the beach had this garish “thing” on it. It looked like one of those things you would rent for a child’s birthday party that you jump in with small plastic balls. On the beach end was a large slide. I thought it looked horrible and made that resort look a little low class to me. Just my humble opinion. We also went to another resort that you had to take a trolley to the beach. I would prefer to be walking distance to the beach, not riding distance.
All in all, it was a great vacation and we are definitely planning to return next year.

“Not what I expected”

I booked this place only because I wanted to get away but even that has its boundaries. I'm not picky at all where i stay but i don't think the food is very accomodating to people like me.

Premises - Was very nice, scenic as the grounds are quite big

Food - Unusal dishes not very appealing at all at times

A Le Carte - Italian/Seafood, we didn't get curious about the seafood, last thing i wanted was to get sick but according to other travellers at the same time, they had cockroaches. Italine cuisine is considered your own personal pizza. Not pleased with the services there.

Entertainment - Was ok but we didn't completely enjoy it. Dancers not co-ordinated and it was very basic entertainment. Circus was ok as well.

Staff - Not very nice. Find they didn't have much respect for the tourists. Didn't look like they wanted tips either (which we didn't mind)

Room - was ok, couldn't turn off the fan on the ceiling. Automatic with power.

Beach - Small and you have to get there early to get a seat. And even if you put your towels there to mark your spot, we had ours removed to one chair

I would recommend this to people who really want to enjoy the sun and have some drinks and not picky at all with food. Won't go back there.

“Loved It!”

For all of those people who expect a 5 star hotel at a 3 star price you will not receive this at the LTI. However you will receive a fantastic vacation, if you epect the type of service you pay for. Please be aware that this is a HUGE European vacation spot. Most of the people traveling there do not speak english! Thus there is no reason for the workers here to know english. The ones that do know english are very helpful! At first we thought they were being rude but they just don't know how to conjigate their sentences. The beach was spectacular! The food was normal. We never ate the same thing twice except for breakfast. There is really only so much you can cook for breakfast. The food was better then what i cook at home. The only thing you really have to add is salt and pepper.
Our room was what we expected. People complain about the beds not being true king size beds but we saw no problem in that. We made due when we had to. They don't have elevators in the buildings so tell me how they're going to get king size mattresses up 3 floors of stairs? This country is still underdeveloped and most of the population in Punta Cana doesn't even have power so to them these resorts are palaces!
Unfourtantley things do happen on vacations that people cannot control, but nothing goes right all the time at home either.
You do need bug spray there are mosquitos. Remeber you are in the middle of a jungle island.
If you go to any of the A la Carte restaurants go to the sea food one and order the seafood pan. It is an extra $45 but it is so worth it!
The drinks are great! Domestics are the only drinks included so if you are one of those people who has to have their Crown & coke, then you need to find a resort that offers that. But if you are ok with frozen pina coladas, cervasa and rum and cokes you are good to go. Remeber all alcohol gets you drunk!
There are always chairs on the beach and by the pool. They clean the grounds daily and the rake the seaweed off of the beach twice a day.
Yes there are beach vendors but if you tell them no they leave and if they don't the resort has security on the beach and they do not deal with customers being bothered.
We really had nothing bad to say about this resort.
You have to put a card in the slot reader over the thermostat to turn it on. Leave it in and your room will be at the perfect temp the whole time. The t.v. works sometimes but we weren't there to watch t.v.
If you are looking for a middle of the road resort where you can eat, drink and relax then you want to go here!
If you tip a little the service will get even better!
So go! Hopefully you will have a great time too!
**This is a top optional beach so no matter where u go there will be topless people**

“Our first trip!”

LTI Beach Resort Punta Cana

4 of 5 stars
Atlanta, GA

We just got back 5/14 from LTI. My husband and I went with another couple and we had a great time. The staff at LTI was very nice and helpful. I had read a lot of reviews prior to going and found them very helpful. You do need to get up fairly early to get a place on the beach in the shade. I burn very easily even with 70 spf, so shade was a must for me. The beach is so beautiful! The pool is a little smaller in person than in the pictures as well as the resort it self. We were not bothered too much by sales people. We found if we told we had already done that, they left us alone. The drink cups are small and I would highly recommend taking your own larger cup. It seems like a long haul from the beach to the bar when it is so hot out. The food was ok, seemed bland and we are not picky eaters. The grill by the beach had the best chicken. When you go to the market, never pay more than 1/2 of what they are asking for. We think they deal with you better the second or third time they saw you come through. Don't be afraid to deal with them. One thing to remember, they are not as poor as you think they are if they can afford cell phones. The mini market is very over priced. We took a private trip into Higuey and it was worth every cent. Our driver was great even though he could not speak english. (The one day I left my book in the room!) He was very protective of us and made us feel like one of his friends. The roads are very rough and the driving can be wild but the drivers we had were very good. One other thing, only ask the people at the front desk questions about Punta Cana. We were told by one of the boat people that we could walk down the beach to Hard Rock Cafe and it was about a 20 minute walk. That was a huge lie because you can not go through the other resorts and it took us over 2 hrs of steady walking in the sun to get down close to it only to have to pay some one to take us two blocks over from the beach. Over all we had the best trip ever but we want to try a different resort next time for a different experience. Enjoy your trip!
