For all of those people who expect a 5 star hotel at a 3 star price you will not receive this at the LTI. However you will receive a fantastic vacation, if you epect the type of service you pay for. Please be aware that this is a HUGE European vacation spot. Most of the people traveling there do not speak english! Thus there is no reason for the workers here to know english. The ones that do know english are very helpful! At first we thought they were being rude but they just don't know how to conjigate their sentences. The beach was spectacular! The food was normal. We never ate the same thing twice except for breakfast. There is really only so much you can cook for breakfast. The food was better then what i cook at home. The only thing you really have to add is salt and pepper.
Our room was what we expected. People complain about the beds not being true king size beds but we saw no problem in that. We made due when we had to. They don't have elevators in the buildings so tell me how they're going to get king size mattresses up 3 floors of stairs? This country is still underdeveloped and most of the population in Punta Cana doesn't even have power so to them these resorts are palaces!
Unfourtantley things do happen on vacations that people cannot control, but nothing goes right all the time at home either.
You do need bug spray there are mosquitos. Remeber you are in the middle of a jungle island.
If you go to any of the A la Carte restaurants go to the sea food one and order the seafood pan. It is an extra $45 but it is so worth it!
The drinks are great! Domestics are the only drinks included so if you are one of those people who has to have their Crown & coke, then you need to find a resort that offers that. But if you are ok with frozen pina coladas, cervasa and rum and cokes you are good to go. Remeber all alcohol gets you drunk!
There are always chairs on the beach and by the pool. They clean the grounds daily and the rake the seaweed off of the beach twice a day.
Yes there are beach vendors but if you tell them no they leave and if they don't the resort has security on the beach and they do not deal with customers being bothered.
We really had nothing bad to say about this resort.
You have to put a card in the slot reader over the thermostat to turn it on. Leave it in and your room will be at the perfect temp the whole time. The t.v. works sometimes but we weren't there to watch t.v.
If you are looking for a middle of the road resort where you can eat, drink and relax then you want to go here!
If you tip a little the service will get even better!
So go! Hopefully you will have a great time too!
**This is a top optional beach so no matter where u go there will be topless people**

We just got back 5/14 from LTI. My husband and I went with another couple and we had a great time. The staff at LTI was very nice and helpful. I had read a lot of reviews prior to going and found them very helpful. You do need to get up fairly early to get a place on the beach in the shade. I burn very easily even with 70 spf, so shade was a must for me. The beach is so beautiful! The pool is a little smaller in person than in the pictures as well as the resort it self. We were not bothered too much by sales people. We found if we told we had already done that, they left us alone. The drink cups are small and I would highly recommend taking your own larger cup. It seems like a long haul from the beach to the bar when it is so hot out. The food was ok, seemed bland and we are not picky eaters. The grill by the beach had the best chicken. When you go to the market, never pay more than 1/2 of what they are asking for. We think they deal with you better the second or third time they saw you come through. Don't be afraid to deal with them. One thing to remember, they are not as poor as you think they are if they can afford cell phones. The mini market is very over priced. We took a private trip into Higuey and it was worth every cent. Our driver was great even though he could not speak english. (The one day I left my book in the room!) He was very protective of us and made us feel like one of his friends. The roads are very rough and the driving can be wild but the drivers we had were very good. One other thing, only ask the people at the front desk questions about Punta Cana. We were told by one of the boat people that we could walk down the beach to Hard Rock Cafe and it was about a 20 minute walk. That was a huge lie because you can not go through the other resorts and it took us over 2 hrs of steady walking in the sun to get down close to it only to have to pay some one to take us two blocks over from the beach. Over all we had the best trip ever but we want to try a different resort next time for a different experience. Enjoy your trip!

“Everything but the workers”

In order: The Beach was amazing, the pool was great (not many people around and very refreshing), the grounds were very nicely taken care of, the rooms were fine, the food was alright, the workers.. well, I was not impressed. Of course there are exceptions, there were a helpful few but this would probably be my only real complaint about this resort. A number of us go away every year in the Spring and we got 3 rooms. 1 of the rooms had a toilet problem the whole week (including flooding). It took sometimes 3-4 hours for someone to come and fix it. In the meantime, they had to use the Lobby bathrooms or another of our rooms. This was frustrating as the staff wouldn't leave a plunger (which would have helped). We could communicate with only about 10% of the staff at this hotel with exception being the front desk and tour/activity planners. HUGE language barriers. I do understand that it is a different country but I've been to dozens of places and never really encountered the language barrier to this extent.
Our rooms had not been cleaned one day which is fine with me. However, I called the front desk to bring me some fresh towels (I also offered to come get them myself) they told me someone was on their way. after 2 hours and calling several times to see what was taking so long, I finally got them.
Some of the male workers were a little too pushy, with the women and with whom we booked our tours with.
The food was nothing to write home about, same ol stuff, mysterious looking.. The make your own stations were great. But it got old. Omellette in the morning, pasta for lunch and dinner. The Italian restaurant served personal pizza and had a little buffet. That was pretty sad. The snack bar wasn't that great either.
No real complaint about the rooms (other than that toilet) except the bathroom door had windows?!?! weird..
The grounds were nicely groomed and the pool was great. The beach is.. WOW..
The location of the resort is great too. But to leave by automobile is serious. There are potholes like I've never encountered ANYWHERE (even 3rd world countries). I couldn't beleive it.

Tips: Skip the Marinarium if you've ever snorkeled before (its an enclosed compound with some sharks and rays, no real reef)
Make sure to go to the Rancho Pancho Llamo (dune buggy or ATV) It was the best time we had there!

I wouldn't return to this hotel as I know there are TONS of other hotels that are around the same price for better.

“Hot and Sunny Vaca”

I just got back at 2 this morning & wanted to post this while my mind is fresh.
We were greeted at the gorgeous Punta Cana airport by our hotel transport/driver (VIP Services is what it was called) within seconds and he whisked us away to LTI immediately. It was a short 30 minute ride. LTI's lobby is really pretty and we went to check in, and while waiting, heard a lady say, "Is my room ready yet... you guys told me to go and eat and come back in 30 minutes." The receptionist advised her it still was not. I said, Uh oh. Needless to say, ours was not ready either. They told us to have some lunch & come back in 20 min. So we did and by then our room was ready.
When we got to our room, we found out they'd given us two beds. Any and every couple knows how uncomfortable this is.
A guy from guest services came by in a few minutes & asked if everything was okay. I advised him that besides the bed, we were fine. He asked if we wanted to switch rooms but I said No, since were there for a short business-related trip.
Some paint was peeling, our shower head always pointed toward the sink and had to be physically held (or it would soak the entire bathroom) and I'm sure the LTI has seen better days, but besides these things, everything else was fine.
The beach is GORGEOUS. We stupidly didn't wear sunblock the first day and got severe sunburn. Def wear tons of it, folks.
The pool was nice, not too loud and animation was okay.
The food could be more varied but there is something there for everyone.
The shows at night were entertaining, in my opinion.
We went to the disco too early to enjoy it and then passed out so I can't give a review on that.
Def hit up the vendors down the beach instead of buying gifts to take home at the gift shop. We negotiated a painting from $890 to just $350. That's insane. Don't budge and they'll work with you.
All in all, it was a good time and worth it (minus the severe sunburn that made us mostly cower away from the sun and stay in the shade). WEAR YOUR SUNBLOCK AT ALL TIMES!

We were at LTI late April, Myself , Spouse and 2 children age 8 and 6. We all had a good time. My children didn't have any problem finding food that they liked. We enjoyed all the restaurants. The pizza was very good in the Italian restaurant. Enjoyed having our meals in restaurant # 1 because it was smoke free and staff was very freindly. They would try to make you feel comfortable. From other reviews some people had complains about front desk help. We had a small problem in room 3024. We spoke with the front desk people and within 2 hours there was someone fixing the problem. Sometimes people take well manered quiet people for rudeness. The kids club was good . If there was any negative it would be the fact that all the children spoke different languages. The kids club staff was excellent . My kids got to spend at lot of time with Heidi because Katy had gone on vacation. In regards to the resort shows , up to now they had been the best that I have seen in a resort. We did have rain but it did not stop us from having fun. My 8 year old suggested for us to bring an umbrella next time just in case it is raining during supper time. Extras were very expensive. My kids wanted a push pop that normaly I pay 88c and pringles normally $2.99. When I was told it was $9 US dollars I explained to my children that we were not rich to pay that much money. Overall good vacation . If you are a Ritz client this is not the resort for you. Would go back tomorrow and bring my umbrella.
