We were at LTI late April, Myself , Spouse and 2 children age 8 and 6. We all had a good time. My children didn't have any problem finding food that they liked. We enjoyed all the restaurants. The pizza was very good in the Italian restaurant. Enjoyed having our meals in restaurant # 1 because it was smoke free and staff was very freindly.They would try to make you feel comfortable. From other reviews some people had complains about front desk help. We had a small problem in room 3024. We spoke with the front desk people and within 2 hours there was someone fixing the problem. Sometimes people take well manered quiet people for rudeness.The kids club was good . If there was any negative it would be the fact that all the children spoke different languages. The kids club staff was excellent . My kids got to spend at lot of time with Heidi because Katy had gone on vacation. In regards to the resort shows , up to now they had been the best that I have seen in a resort. We did have rain but it did not stop us from having fun. My 8 year old suggested for us to bring an umbrella next time just in case it is raining during supper time. Extras were very expensive. My kids wanted a push pop that normaly I pay 88c and pringles normally $2.99. When I was told it was $9 US dollars I explained to my children that we were not rich to pay that much money. Overall good vacation . If you are a Ritz client this is not the resort for you. Would go back tomorrow and bring my umbrella.

This was our 5th trip to Punta Cana and our second to LTI. We thoroghly enjoyed ouyr firdt tip but eh second time at LTI was horrible. I could go on forever but I will try to list some of the probleems.
Like Goldilocks someone had slept in one of the beds prior to our arrival;
The air conditioning system broke;
We are nonsmokers , so they shipped us to a room that was filled with stench of cigarettes;
The front desk personnel were completely inept and played the I don't understand even though the people in front had talked in english;
The management was rude and cocky in their treatment to us;
When we changed rooms they came to change us only after My sweettalking wife chastized.them;
They even had the nerve to make the suggestion that we take our valuables to the beach.

All in all this last trip in March will be our last to LTI, but definitely not to Punta Cana

“Overall, better than average”

Our family of five, my husband and I in our 40's and three kids age 13, 12, and 5, stayed here April 21-28. Overall I would have to say our stay was better than average, but you have to take the good with the bad, plan ahead, and make it your own vacation. It helped immensely that I spoke Spanish. We visited from the US and we were definitely the minority. A lot of German and French/Canadian at the resort. My husband is very high spirited, so it helped in making our vacation fun. He enjoyed playing beach volleyball with our daughters and others. My son enjoyed the kids club, and the staff from the kids club really made an effort to get the kids involved. My son absolutely loved Pablo and to this day is still saying that he misses him.

check in and the rooms.....Check in went smooth for us, however, I had emailed the resort several times prior to our arrival with requests for our family due to medical conditions my 5 year old faces. Our request were partially met. They did not have connecting rooms at this resort so they put us in a family suite (although we had the option of two rooms right next to each other but the thought of our kids in one room and us in the other just didn't float with us, even if it was just right next to us), for more reasons than one...safety, medical issues with our son, two beautiful girls in a foreign country, the age of our children.....etc...etc..... A family suite only had one bathroom which was a down side to it all, not to mention that the master room was also the living room so we had no privacy. But, because we didn't want to leave the kids in a room of their own, and we didn't want to split the family up on a family vacation, we decided to take the family suite. On the plus side, we had a beautiful ocean view and got the free upgrade. Rafael at the front desk was extremely professional and courteous. Given one can only work with what you are given and he can only give out the rooms given at the resort....he can't make something magically appear that isn't there...the situation was well handled and he gave us the best two case scenarios and let us decide what we wanted for our family. I think it definitely helps that we emailed ahead of time...several times...and made our request well known. It's true what some other reviews say about the bathrooms having windows panes as the upper half of the door. We asked for thumbtacks at the front desk and hung a towel up with them to resolve that problem. We did encounter a problem getting hot water....it was warm at it's best, but pressure was good. No plugs for the tub, so bathing my son, I had to run the shower, but the nozzle for the shower was a removable one, and used it. Rented the lock for the safe to secure our more important items such as jewlery, ipods, wallets and passports. They did fumigate...I refused due to my son's medical condition just didn't want to take any chances. My son slept on the sofa bed. One morning after he was given a comforter to cover himselft with by housekeeping, he woke up scratching a lot with tiny bumps on him. I have to be honest and say that I don't know if it was due to bedbugs from the comforter (he didn't have them the previous two nights on the sofabed so they didn't come from there) or if they were a reaction he could've had to the sunscreen I was using on hime as he is sensitive to a lot of things. I will never find out. I do know that I never used the comforter again, and they seemed to go away although he scratched for two days and being I came prepared for him, I had benadryl as well as Benadryl gel I could apply to his skin. I continued to use the sunscreen because I really didn't think it had come from that since he's used it all his life. He played a lot in the sand as well....so who knows.

Food....adequate but nothing to brag home about. Breakfast was good. My son liked the omelettes. Not the kind we are used to here in the states, but still good. pancakes available, bacon, sausage, potatotes, crepes, a few cereals, yogurts, fruit, fruitshakes (bannana, pineapple, papaya, and melon). A lot of breakfast choices. My husband loved the chicken at lunch by the beach grill. The buffet for lunch was average at best, but always something could still be found. Two out of five of us had stomach problems and three of us did not. Funny thing was that those of us that usually have weak stomachs at home were the ones that were fine on the trip. The breads morning noon and night along with breadsticks and flatbreads were delicious and quite surprisingly good. My husband really enjoyed the chinese stations. I had a little bit one night and thought it was good too.
The Italian place only had pizza, no other specialty dishes, but the pizza was good and so was the service. The seafood place only had one fish plate that was included...anything else was available for a price of at least $28 american or so and I didn't enjoy the lobster in the white sauce and then back into it's shell. I forget what it was called. It was prepared with the lungs and all and had a very weird taste and the next morning was the only day I actually had stomach problems.

The pool and beach. The pool was clean the entire time we were there and my son loved it. The water was nice. The jacuzzi temperature was the same temperature as the pool water. The beach was spectacular. Cleaned every day from seaweed and the water gorgeous aquamarine and warm (low 80's). The sand pinkish white and soft and we just loved it. Played many beach games. Did a snorkeling excursion through the hut to the left of the hotel where you can book on the beach which was average but then got our wristbands stamped and had unlimitted use of snorkeling gear, kayaks, boogieboards, etc for the week. My kids had a blast with the boogie boards. Even though the waves are no where big enough for boogie boarding, they still had a fun time. Plenty of lounge chairs on the beach. If you want one under a beach hut, you better be up by 6:30pm!!!
One of the excursions you can book from the hut on property or the hut over by the water sports talks about visiting a giant inflatable slide. This slide is actually a public slide set up on the beach at the Fiesta Resort. As you face the ocean, you take a right and walk the beach to get to the Fiesta Resort. It's quite a walk (about 20 or 25 minutes), but we took it and it was well worth it to get to the water slide. The kids loved the slide...they spray water down the slide and you prior to going down the slide so it then becomes a water slide. You pay "X" amount and then get to go down the slide an specific amount of times depending on the amount you pay. I believe we payed $10 for 14 slides. They give you 14 rubberbands you can put around your wrist and they take one away every time you slide down once. You can also pay $5 for 6 slides. The kids had a blast and my husband and I even went down a few times and enjoyed it. It was one of the highlights for my 5 and 12 year old. You can take a taxi to the resort, but then I guess to get onto the beach you would have to explain once you got to the Fiesta resort how you wish to use the water slide located on their beach and I would think it shouldn't be a problem. Afterall, it's not like the resort would serve you their food or drinks if you don't have a wristband from their resort.

Other excursions.....My husband and daughters did the 4X4 excursion that can be booked at the hut over by where the towels are given out. It was the best price he could find and he looked around a bit. They told him it was a three hour excursion. He and the girls said they really had a good time. What they fail to tell you is that it takes over 2 hrs to get to the place because they stop for other folks at other hotels along the way. On the way back they said it was quicker but still a bit of a way. They left the hotel at 1:30pm and I was actually at the front desk asking if they could please find out where they were and all because I was very worried about them since it was 6:30pm and they still weren't back from what was supposed to have been a 3 hour excursion. As a mother and wife one worries and you think the worse. I was glad to see them when they got back and they said it was a fun time, but they were dissapointed that the time to get there and back was so long and that no one told them when booking.
We have been to Punta Cana before. We love the beach there. We have stayed at other resorts that are nicer. I must say that this is a good resort if you have younger kids. Two of the other resorts I stayed at I did not see the animation staff get as involved with the kids as I saw here. Granted, they are gone from noon to 2 or 3pm and then again from 5pm to 8:30pm and then they have a little kids show on the stage for 1/2 hour for them, but when they are around, they keep them entertained very well. They don't have a club per say. They just do activities. Their "club" is an outdoor playground with a covered terrace. Nothing with an indoor playroom with airconditioning or anything of the sort. When I went next door to the Ocean Blue to check out their grounds with my husband....they had much bigger grounds...so big that they have a tram to get you around...but they also had a nice club for the children..an actual playroom with airconditioning...etc. They had a rock climbing wall for the kids at Ocean Blue as well as a trampoline. But.....bigger isn't always better. Although I would go for bigger next time as our kids will be older and it would be nicer, when we walked through the bigger resort at two different places (Fiesta and Ocean Blue, both our daughters commented how they were happy they were staying in a smaller place where they didn't have to walk so much to get to things and how it just felt safer for them. You do get a better feel. It's hard to explain. I did see security guards on the beach at all the resorts, although I have to say, for whatever the reason, LTI seemed to have more than the other resorts.
Would I go back to LTI, probably not, but not because of any major problems....just because there are so many other places in Punta Cana that I would like to try as well.

We just returned from a wonderful week at LTI. I am 52 and I traveled with my three children ages 25, 23, and 19. We all had a great time. the room was clean and adequate. the grounds were beautiful. Food great, as for you picky eaters, they have hot dogs. burgers and fries from 11am - 8pm. the Italian rest. had the best pizza. I loved the buffets and enjoyed trying different food. The entertainment staff were also fantastic and put on good shows. I think what I liked the best was that the resort was small very easy to walk to anything you needed. I also liked that there were people from all over the world. Lots of Germans and Candians
Many families, singles and newlyweds. We never got sick and we eat and drank everything. We are from Boston Ma. so we brought 50 red sox hats .The staff really loved and appricated them. I can't wait to return Some hints
please bring sunscreen, bug spray,thermal mugs, floats for the pool and beach. My son got a cold and tylenol cold tablets cost us 20 dollars so come prepared for the unexpected

“A memorable anniversary break”

LTI Beach Resort Punta Cana

Apr 24, 2008

What a fab place to stay for a special occasion!

We stayed at the LTI in October 2007 and would return in a flash.

Our favourite part of the hotel, other than the glorious beach, was the lobby. What a breath-taking entrance. In the evenings, after our dinner and before our moon-lite walk along the beach, we would sit in the lobby on the HUGE comfortable sofas with a 'Cafe con leche' and relax and soak up the atmosphere.

Days were spent lounging between the pool and the white sandy beach!

The pool bar El Torro was really convenient to go and grab a couple of cocktails to take back to the beach.

The Room:

Clean and functional. The mini bar was stocked daily with 2 small bottles of Sprite and Coke. Also 1 litre bottles of water. The TV was temperamental (Although we only found this out in the last 2 days of our holiday when we suffered the backlash of a hurricane!) The air-conditioning was a god send although ours decided to leak water during the night on numerous occasions, waking us up and having to get reception to get cleaners to come an mop up!(There was a lot of water!)

The bathroom was a good size with a very powerful shower (I remember this as it killed with sunburn!) The one strange thing about the bathroom was the door which had a glass pane in the middle of it so you could see out, but more worryingly people could see in! Although the loo was to the right of this door. (You could still see someone using it easily though!)

The Food:

The main food hall was amazing. Breakfast gave you the choice of:
Hot drinks, porridge, Fresh bread (all types), many different cereals, fruit galore, Cheese, smoothies, juices, cooked breakfast items, freshly made to order omelette's with your choice of filling, crepes, pancakes, Croissants, etc etc.

Lunch:
Pizzas, Chips, Salad, Fruit, fish dishes, chicken, soup, potatoes, pasta, all types of meat, deserts, fruit juices, smoothies.

Dinner:
Soups, breads, potatoes, freshly made pasta dishes to order, fish counter, Meat counter, Chinese made to order counter (my favourite), deserts etc.

El Toro - The Beach Bar - Offered a buffet of hot and cold foods at lunchtime and also had an all day grill which offered Burgers, Hot Dogs, Chicken pieces and chips.

The Pizza House (Can't remember the name) - BOOK INTO HERE BY THE MAIN RESTAURANT COMPLEX BETWEEN 9am & 10:30am OTHERWISE YOU WONT GET IN! THERE IS NO WAY YOU CAN GET IN WITHOUT A RESERVATION TICKET!
You were able to eat here once a week (although when we went it was very quiet and were able to eat there 4 times in 2 weeks!) This was a buffet style restaurant with lasagne, bread, salad, soup and starters available. You are then given a menu from which to choose your desired Pizza or Calzone.

Drinks are on tap no matter where you go in the complex and their days out are very well organised!

Overall, this is a child friendly, honeymoon friendly, group friendly place in which to holiday!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!
