We have just returned our holiday in dominican republic ,which was to celebrate our wedding anniversary.We had a terrrible experience as after 2 days my wife wanted to come home.
We had an upgraded ocean view superior room, and what we got was restricted view with no privacy, so after a couple of days we aked the rep to be moved.We finally moved to the EXELLENCE HOTEL at our own expense and it was superb and would recommend.
Food at the hotel was variable and sometimes looked uncooked or not very appertizing.Rooms basic and looked tired and on some days rooms not cleaned properly and the bedding was'nt changed .
In our opionion this hotel is not 4* hotel

Great grounds,very nice Beach walk,s,food was very good also.The room,s were dated,but okay.Lot,s of places to get beer,wine or cocktails.The pool was super with lot,s of chair,s.No problems on our holiday here and would recomend the LTI ......

Just returned from LTI with my husband and our 2 boys (18, 11). We consider ourselves seasoned Caribbean travelers, as my husband works for a major airline. There were no surprises at LTI. It is one of the "smaller" resorts, however the grounds are beautifully maintained, the beach is wonderful, and the free form pool is great. We had a family suite(2 twin beds as you walk in the door, separated by a door leading into another bedroom with a king bed) which offered a gorgeous view overlooking the ocean and the pool area. Yes, the rooms are VERY basic, with VERY basic amenities-and yes, we found that the pillows are lumpy so we requested more, and they were quickly brought to our room. Although we thought it was time the rooms could use an overhaul, i.e., paint, plaster repairs, etc...the maids kept them clean. What we were very surprised about was the food. We really thought there was a great selection and it was great! The shows were nice, the animation team was very friendly, and we felt the same way for the majority of the staff who were always hard at work. If you are looking for a Ritz, this isn't the place for you, nor does LTI pretend to be. If you are looking for a great pool, beach area, and laid back resort at a good value, this is the place.....we would go back, as we truly enjoyed our stay. Upstate, NY

The gounds are beautiful, the beaches are beautiful the weather was nice, from there, it's downhill.The food is all buffet style and while most of it was just OK, it was just not good, I ordered two fried eggs, how can they screw that up?Well the griddle was so hot that the eggwhite disappeared and all that was left that crunchy toasted edge with yellow spots where the yolk is supposed to be. I asked the cook if he would eat that but he did'nt understand English, so all I got was that blank stare.
If you want service, it is nonexistant, the natives are a nuisance hawking there wares.
The room was in disrepair although the maid did an excellent job keeping it clean.
We took one tour into Santo Domingo which was 3 hours away and travelling through the country gave me the impression that the Dominicans don't have much pride in their country, at any openspace where there were'nt any buildings, is where they threw their trash and I mean everywhere.
I could go on,but You should be able to tell that I would'nt go back
