Stayed here four days at end of June '08. The TB is a pleasantly unpretentious boutique hotel located just at the southern end of Paynes Bay, about 40 minutes from Bridgetown Airport. The room we stayed in was a 2nd floor garden view suite, which actually had both a pool and ocean view (glad we didn't pay extra for pool or ocean view suites!). Large bedroom, lovely terrace (with plenty of cheeky sparrers) and decent size bathroom too.
The hotel was pretty empty when we arrived (we were the only ones to check-in that day) and so plenty of room at the pool or on the beach. Never saw more than 2-3 tables occupied for dinner (though we only ate at the hotel restaurant one night).
My only (minor) comment is that the staff seemed a bit grumpy: I rarely got a smile from anyone other than the very friendly manager, Hamish and the reception staff. Apart from this, service was fine, but reactive rather than proactive (i.e. if you took a seat by the pool, nobody would ask if you wanted a drink from the bar).
Go here if you want to stay on the west coast but would rather avoid glitzy resort-style hotels and prefer a more personal place to stay.
A tip: don't bother signing up for a catamaran cruise to see turtles: just swim off the beach and you'll see all the turtles you could ever want (all the catamaran cruises pitch up 50m north of the hotel every day). We also saw barracuda, rays, trumpetfish and a conger eel just by snorkelling off the beach..
