“Go Elsewhere”

Hotel Nikko Tokyo

1 of 5 stars
KL, Malaysia
Mar 20, 2008

The hotel is old. Furnishings and rooms are old. When we checked in, they wanted to give us a smoking room even though our reservations were for non-smoking. Location of the hotel is seriously out of the way. To get from Daiba (Yurikamome line) to any subway line would cost 310Yen. Aside the fact it took about 25mins. Would not recommend this hotel. Plus side, customer service is good, when we complained, they upgraded us to another room. Same issue, the rooms are old and the hotel requires refurbishment. Great views from the window of the bridge and stunning views at night.

“Beautiful Rainbow Bridge view”

Hotel Nikko Tokyo

4 of 5 stars

3/3 found this review helpful

We stayed at the Nikko the Tokyo Balcony end of Feb. with a Rainbow Bridge view room. The view is magnificent.
The hotel service is immaculate. Though the location at Daiba may not be the most convenient, it's a few stops away from Shinbashi on a monorail train.

The room is spacious with great amenities. Bell service is hospitaable and courteous. Concierge is a bit disappointing.
Overall the service is meticulous.

The teppanyaki restaurant serves mouthwatering seafood and Wagyu beef. We had an enjoyable dinner.

Each room has a small balcony, it would be nice to enjoy the sea breeze in a warmer month.

It's worth to pay a bit more for a rainbow bridge view room.

I would certain return.

ROME, GEORGIA
Jan 23, 2008

We stayed at the Nikko in odaiba for 10 days in july. we were there during a typhoon and an earthquake and it couldn't have been better. The staff and the facilities were outstanding. the location was great. a great view of downtown tokyo but out of the hussle and bussle, but only 10 minutes by monorail away. I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

“Excellent Value on Tokyo Bay”

Hotel Nikko Tokyo

4 of 5 stars
New England

5/5 found this review helpful

Location: Very convenient to getting around, even though it is in the newly developed area on Tokyo Bay-- Adjacent to Yurikamome Monorail, Daiba Station -- Y310 to get to Shimbashi Station and connect to major lines (e.g., get the Yokohama, Kamakura, etc.) or an easy walk to Ginza. There is also the Suidobasu (river boat) at Hinode Pier, several stops from Daiba, where you can take the "waterbus" to Asakusa Pier and walk to Kaminarimon/Asakusa Temple. Lots of places to eat within in 2-5 minutes walk from the hotel (Aqua City, with shops and places to eat), McDonalds, Starbucks, sushi, noodles, etc.

Comfort: Very comfortable -- rooms have views of the water, Tokyo skyline, well appointed, super clean, deep and long bath tub, robes and pajamas which are provided daily, toiletries amply replenished. Stock your own water, snacks as the mini bar items are pricey. At Shimbashi Station there is a great grocer where you can purchase just about everything (produce, drinks, bento, bakery items and prepared bentos) to bring back to your room should you wish.

Although you can get to Asakusa by train, the water bus on a clear day is a great way to take in the city. Although we took a cab from Haneda (about 20 minutes to the hotel Y4500 or so), there is an airport bus from there as well as the Narita Airport bus y2700 which leaves directly from the hotel (and the hotel staff are terrific about keeping your bags and getting it on the airport bus).

Overall, a beautiful setting (so many weddings on the weekend) for a moderate price (do spring for the differential for the water view room as it is worth it), a lovely central staircase in the lobby, a fish tank, service was very courteous, use of the business center, i.e., the computers and internet access was without charge . . . and they kept me posted on the game 4 Red Sox win!!!

“Best Hotel In Tokyo”

Hotel Nikko Tokyo

Jun 4, 2005
17/18 found this review helpful

A centally located 5 star hotel located on the Metro Line Outside busy Tokyo City only 20min from Ginza across the Rainbow Bridge. Excellent panormaric views of the picture postcard Tokyo Bay. View scenery from your private balcony. Service is excellent and staff friendly and hospitable. All spoke English. Food is varied with international cuisine from French to Japanese cuisine and will cook anything you wish for which may not be on the menu. Rooms are large and has excellent facilities. For a single person travelling, you are not housed in a shoe box with a single bed as is the norm in most Japanese Hotels. Popular for weekend weddings. Shops and restraunts close by. Good venue with conference facilities. The IATA International Conference was held there last week.
