Desert Palms Hotel & Suites

Close to Disneyland

This hotel was clean and nicely decorated. It was family friendly and within walking distance of decent restaurants and Disneyland. Fast food was nearby, too. (There was a tiny bar/cafe on the premises Nothing special there.) Parking was provided at no extra charge below the building. There is no shuttle to the House of Mouse, but it was a very short walk..short enough to come back during the day to take a break from Disney Frenzy.

The hotel is great

Breakfast could be better, however the overall service is great and parking is free.My family and I enjoyed our stay and would stay there again when we visit the area.

All the local attractions is great. My family and I love the Knots Berry Farm very much and are planning to visit again soon.

O.K. But will not go back.

Room was clean but our view was a brick wall (which was not appealing). It’s about a 10-12 minute walk to Disneyland. It’s close to a 7-11 which was convenient.

Very comfortable.. the breakfast was a bit of a zoo, area to small.

OK for the Expedia price

The room was fine for what we needed which was a shower and decent bed after spending all day at the theme park. The staff was courteous and even though we checked our of the hotel in the morning, they let us keep our car parked there til evening when we left Anaheim. I’d skip the free breakfast it was gross. Toast and juice can be done better. Eggs tasted like the plate the were served on.

Affordable Disneyland

Two room suite was extremely spacious and clean. Located walking minutes from California Adventure/Disneyland. The complimentary breakfast was questionable and overrun with hotel guests. Ask for a room that doesn’t overlook the pool. Very noisy some mornings.

Disney Hot Spot

Great location and excellent staff, would recommend to anyone looking to get close to Disney and not pay $400 a night.

Exactly as pictured

We stayed in a suite that looked just like the pictures. Room was comfortable, but view from window wasn’t great (parking lot wall). Disneyland just around the corner; about 10-min walking distance. Breakfast was okay.

Not too far from Disneyland

We usually stay right across the street from the park so that we don’t have to walk far. I reserved late and could’nt get a room. I needed a suite so we tried out the Desert Palm. The first night I walked down Harbor to Disney. The street was not well lit and I was a little nervous. On the way back I took the parking lot tram to the convention center gate. A short well lit walk back to the hotel. The room was nice but it needed more lights.

A full breakfast was included. Eggs, potatoes, and sausage, as well as cereals, breads and pastries.

A genuinely pleasant hotel

The Desert Palms is in an area (less than a mile from the Getty Museum) where there aren’t many good hotels. Service is excellent; the facilities are well maintained. My only criticism is that the hotel has two sections, the main one at ground level, and a separate second building requiring a good five-minute walk outside and up a steep heill to get to, a nuisance on a hot day and an imposition on those who don’t like climbing up and down hills. Van service is provided between the two buildings, but being in the upper building (despite the views, which are terrific) is a real nuisance, especially if you’re in the hotel for a conference as I was, since the meeting rooms are all in the lower building. Book a room in the Lower 40 if you can.

Great place to stay

It was a nice place to stay. It was around the corner from Disneyland so we didn’t have to deal with parking. The people were nice and the room was nice. The breakfest was great. It was not like other hotels that only give you donuts. It was a real breakfest.

Terrible Service

The sheets and blankets are old and need to be replaced. There was supposed to be a hot breakfast, but by 9:00 the food was gone and we were told sorry!!! No managers on duty, we were told to call back on Monday.

Clean, comfortable and friendly staff. With bus stop right out in front, getting around couldn’t be easier. Would definitely stay here again. Very family friendly.

I really enjoyed our trip. We were able to walk to Disneyland and California Adventure. The room was the perfect size for my family.

Good for families and close to Disney :)

The front dest was terrific-they helped arrange tickets, taxis, and dinners. They did it greatfully and helped keep costs down. I really appreciated everyone at the desk :)... thanks !

Liked the location

It was a nice short walk to the main enterance of the parks. Morning breakfast was really nice. Had a nice time for our stay. Looking forward to returning in the near future.

Disneyland Trip

Proximity. Good enough to go back.

Good location for access to many activities in SoCal.

This hotel is in good location, with good access, to many activities in Southern California. There are amusement parks, water parks, sporting events and beaches to name a few. The parking was convenient and secure. The rooms were accommodating.

Disneyland 2008

We almost got the wrong room upon arrival, but they very courteously and professionally made sure we got the room we reserved, and were so friendly and helpful during our entire stay. The room was exceptionally clean this time (we have stayed once before) and comfortable. Our only complaint: the beds & pillows could be a little more comfy.

Great hotel within walking distance of Disneyland and several restaurants. They also provide free parking & free breakfast. We appreciated the convenience and comfort the Desert Palms offered. We would definitely stay here again!

Great place to stay with short walk to Disneyland and free parking!

The staff was super friendly, the free breakfast in the morning saved us some money as well as free parking (not all hotels in the area offer free parking). The room was clean and even the cleaning ladies were sweet! I will stay here again. The only complaints: Carpet was wrinkled in room, the elevators around 10am are packed and hard to get into, and the couch and chair were a bit firm, but we didn’t have to sit on them much because we were in Disneyland most of the time! Oh and the people trying to sell you stuff on the street when walking to and from the hotel....timeshares I think?! But seriously a great hotel over all!(better than the Disneyland hotel where we have stayed 3 times before this trip)

Bring a stroller for each kid 4yrs and under, you can’t bring rented strollers back to the hotel and it’s a long walk when carrying a sleepy child at night!

It felt like we were in Hawaii. The staff was kind and accomodating.

Good Hotel

The hotel was just the right price and just 10 minutes walk to Disneyland. Our 6 and 8 year olds made the walk without any trouble. We picked up dinner from the small Bar and Grill downstairs and was pleasantly surprised that the food was good. The breakfast was another pleasant surprise. After having a terrible $50 breakfast at I-hop we tried the hotel’s free breakfast. It was better than I-hops. I was happy with our stay.

Nice for kids

We took our grandchildren to Disneyland and wanted them to have fun.We did not want the hotel to be stuffy. The hotel was nice enough..picture missing on the wall,small stains on carpet etc. But there were children having a good time and the rooms were arranged to work comfortably for a family group. You can’t walk to Disneyland..the hotel doesn’t provide a shuttle..you need to buy a shuttle pass but they do provide a breakfast.

We made sure our car had a GPS which found starbucks and a great Mexican restaurant...out side the Disney district.
