Where to stay |
|
I will be arriving in Aguadilla on Oct. 22 at 3:45 p.m. Never having been there, I feel it would be better to spend the night there, before heading south the next morning to Mayaguez, Cabo Rojo, etc. I'm traveling single, will have a car, and would like someplace with a little nightlife. Any suggestions? Thanks. |

I would suggest heading to Rincon when you arive and staying at a place like The Lazy Parrot or Hotel Villa Cofresi. You can see reviews here for both. In the morning, you can then head to Mayaguez. For more info on Rincon go to www.rinconpr.com

Not sure if you were asking about nightlife in Aguadilla or Mayaguez and Cabo Rojo. There really isn't any real "tourist" type night life in Aguadilla. There is no night life in Cabo Rojo. You would probably fare better in Mayaguez, though Puerto Rico's nightlife capital (no pun intended) is found in the San Juan area.

Yeah- I would head to Rincon- a short car ride away from Aguadilla Airport. Maybe 15-20 mins. of easy driving. Stay at a place with a bar on premises- like Villa Confesi. That way you arrive, have dinner close by or right there, then can hang out at a happening bar and walk to your room and head south in the morning. Mayaguez has the University, so any bar scene might be young.

Considering that you are arriving on a Monday and there’s not much to do, even in the metro area (no pun intended =P), you can go either to Isabela or Rincon for the night. In Rincon you can stay at Villa Cofresi. On Mondays in Rincon Nativo, very close to VC, they have wings and shrimps at .25 cents, a good crowd after 7. Perhaps I will go this next Monday too. In Isabela you can stay at Ocean Front Hotel and then to Happy Belly’s to have something to eat , drink and mingle with the locals. From the airport to Villa Cofresi about 30 minutes. From the airport to Ocean Front Hotel about 15 minutes.

Thanks to all for the helpful info. Off to the Ocean Front Hotel, then horsebackriding the next morning at Tropical Trail Rides, then head south in the afternoon. EXCELLENT suggestions. Thanks.

Thanks to some good suggestions, I had a wonderful trip to this area. The Ocean Front Hotel had beautiful views, but was very quiet during the week. I will probably opt for the Rincon area next visit. A highlight of my entire trip was Tropical Trail Rides. I will do that again when I return. I drove the circumfrence of the entire island, stopping at many beautiful beaches, and found the driving quite easy once you got moving. People were extremely friendly in the remote areas, and were very pleased to share their island. The Cabo Rojo lighthouse wouldn't have been accessable without my 4 wheel drive, as it was very wet when I went, but well worth the trip. The rain forest was cancelled due to some bad weather, but added to my list for the next trip. I love Puerto Rico. Beautiful !!!! Thanks.
