Hey everyone

Can anyone tell me if you are required to buy your tour guide lunch, as well as transport?

Also, what would you recommend as a decent tip (is it similar to American standards)?

Cheers and thanks. J

No, you are not required to buy them lunch. Usually if they bring you to a restaurant that is on an itinery, they are already getting a commission.

I still invite them to join me though.

Tip: depends on how many days and how good they were.

Note: Most tour guides do not get paid and survive only on tipsd and commission. So tip what you think is fair for the service you recieved

Thanks for the information.

My tour is costing me 1500 for 2 people, day tour of city and area. I have booked direct with the guide. I would also invite them over for lunch, sounds silly to have them eat at another table!!

thanks again for the information,
