Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone can advise whether or not it is better to buy tickets before you go or when you arrive.

We are travelling from Australia to Anaheim in Nov 08. It is just my wife and I, no kids. We want to go to Disneyland (3 or 4 day pass), Knotts and Universal.

I guess my question is are there cheaper offers for tickets in Anaheim itself or is it just as cheap to buy them through the travel agent before leaving. Also, maybe if I buy through the net it could be cheaper. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Definately cheaper on net: US$169 on the Disney website compared to AUD$240ish though TA. You can print tickets yourself..really easy. Universal would be the same.

Best to wait until closer to the date in case there are special offers.

I bought my tickets online from disneyland.com a couple of months before going. I printed them out at home. This way it will give me time to pay off the tickets before I get there. One less bill to have once I get home. I'd wait to get them just before you go too. You wouldn't want to pay full price only to find out later had you waited they were running a special. I'm going in July. That's prime time for the parks.

The prices that they are showing on the Disney web site are not going to change. The ticket prices are good thru Jan 2009 I believe.

I would buy them them there and print them on your computer.

Check with your travel agent - there is a special rate for Australian visitors - not sure if it is better than the above rates but it's worth a look.

Im also going Nov 08! We always purchase tickets on the Disneyland.com website beforehand. I love having everything paid for and infront of me before I go.

I got a 3 day park hopper ticket- and opted to get them delivered- and they were at my door within 6 working days. I dont think Disney will discount them between now and November.

Travel agents in Australia generally add a big commission to theme park tickets so advise against that option...

Have a great time!

i would pre book universal studios with grayline tours you dont have to pay until you get to anaheim and i think they do trips to knotts as well have a look on their website.

they will pick you up from your hotel in the morning and take you to the gratline depot and thats where you pay and then go on the bus to wherever.

it looks like you'll be visiting a few places. if so, i recommend buying the citypass as it'll save you more money that way.

you can google city pass and see the attractions you get for the price.

I have a $15 off general admission to Universal Studios good for up to 6 tickets. So if you need it, I can send it to you.

I am a little cautious about buying theme park tickets ahead of time because you don't know how tired you will be once you get here and what the weather will be like. I have had friends who bought tickets ahead of time and had to go to the theme parks in a rain storm (not too fun) and friends who have wasted their tickets because they were simply too tired to go.
