I'm looking for a place/area to stay in Rincon, but am more interested in calm swimming and snorkeling than surfing. Does anyone know the best place in Rincon for this, also that may be walking distance from shops and restaurants? Thanks.

We went in April and stayed at Corsega beach. It was quite calm and beautiful. You can walk on the beach to Villa Cofresi ( Its a hotel with a beautiful on beach bar that has magnificent sunsets and you can also order food at the bar) Also has a full restaurant. Depending where you are on Corsega it may be any where from a 5 minute walk to a 15 minute walk........Along Corsega beach but on the main road ( I think its route 115) there are restaurants called Tropical, a chicken/fish/rib barbeque place, a bakery which also has take out foods, and an Italian place. Also Nativo Restaurant is in the neighborhood. There is a downtown with a few shops that you can walk to, but honestly there isn't that many stores, but we enjoyed it anyway and ended up buying jewelry in the 1 jewelry store. My friends and I walked to all of the above, but depending where you are its not "around the corner".......but the weather is soooo beautiful in Rincon that the walk was very enjoyable.

Corcega is the best swimming beach in Rincon, but for snorkeling try Steps beach if the surf is down in December. For Corcega condo rentals call Island West properties or see their web site. we stayed at a place called Lazy Villa thru them and it was great and close to the beach.make your reservation early as Rincon tends to fill up during the Holidays.I can recommend the English Rose for Brunch..its on the hill above Steps beach.
