euro2008 _Comment |
|
I have just read one of the best euro2008 comments and I would like to share it: "...anyone who prefers white wine to Carlsberg Bier will be expelled behind a high fence..." This of course refering to the extraordinarily intelligent idea of building high fences around the fan zones. Tak |

I forgot to mention the "Tut-Anch-Ueli" a beer made after an 2000 year old egyptian recipee. ( hop, malt and DATE), that is a little bit sweet, but great in taste and unique.

coming back to the carlsberg thing, carlsberg (among other sponsors of course) paid a huge amount of money to be the official beer of the uefa championship. now uefa wants to go so far that it is not only allowed not to serve other beer in the fan area (which in my opinion is fair enough) but also to fence other beer commercials and even prevent fans from wearing t-shirts with other brands on it(e.g. a glasgow ranger fan shirt with the carling print is a no go to enter the fanz zone).. cheers, bowmore

hey bowmore, i heard about that too! it is true then? now, in my dictionary there is a word to describe what carlsberg is doing...it starts with an f and ends with ascism. well on our roof we will serve anything but ;-) and on friday it will your namesake :-) tak

Hey Bowmore, anything that keeps Glasgow Rangers fans out is fine with me,so please tell them or Celtic to wear their jerseys!!! I don't know if you saw the carnage that was left behind in Manchester last week by some of their fans.Of course, everyone else was to blame except themselves. They were forced to drink from first thing in the morning. Mind you, Manchester police never expected 200,000 of them to turn up in their city and they were vastly under prepared. As the saying goes, "you can take the Scot out of Scotland, but not the Scotland out of Scots":-(

I saw the Ranger's mess in Manchester, but I have to admit, that we didn't have the slghtest problem with the Bhoys nor with the Jambos when their teams played in Basel ( Celtic 2002 / Hearts 2004). To the contrary. Great fans!

Hi All, Sorry not to comment on beer or football, but -- Taks, we miss you! Hope all is well. Come back and post soon! s

@swandav Don't worry. I saw here this morning when I walked to my office. We will have a barbecue this evening. I'll tell her to contact you.

Hi Mätzli~
No, not necessary for that -- don't want to be a pest. Thanks though!! Good to know that all is well. s

hey s, I am here and panicking... i can not find my recippee for the ginger shrimp soup...oh well improvise I guess! been cleaning all week. I am online now, so if you want pop in Tak

i am the idiot who missed tak's barbecue, also an official appology on this place! regarding the t-shirts with commercials i read this in a free newspaper (20 minuten), but i guess the uefa rules are indeed pretty strict on this. the glasgow rangers t-shirts were just an example, as due to the uefa cup final i was aware of their sponsor carling, i couldn't care less as i am an old henrik larsson fan and therefore in favor of celtic anyway ;-) cheers, bowmore
