What are the names of the best fresh vegetable and fruit markets in San Gimignane? Also, what days and times are they open? Where do you suggest we go for fresh produce to go home and cook dinners? We are staying at a villa outside San Gimignano for a week and 5 of our family members love to cook. Thanks for your help. Ciao! Kathy

I wish I could answer exactly what you ask, but do suggest the following.

Contact where you are staying and ask which days are local market days. They travel around, in and out of the towns and villages.

2nd. In Poggibonsi,not far from where you will be, is a large COOP. Grocery Market. It is EXCELLENT!! Anything you want, from wine, to water, meats, canned goods, fresh produce and more. The prepared foods are amazing. Pastries, pizzas, grilled veggies and other foods, cheeses, bread, pates and more. We always go and eat in a night or two from the Super Marche or Coop. Check the hours they are open. Cannot beat it!!

Theres a few stalls on Sat am selling local produce including the most amazing fishmonger...the CO-OP will provide for all your needs
