Are taxi's readily available in San Gimignano in the evening

We've just returned from there and were told that San G has only three taxi drivers! Either way, we were taken there and back by the same bloke and charged €15 each way for a 4km journey!

Our host warned us of the taxi rates...so I drove the 2Km... had a few glasses of Chianti later on our return
