Hi,

Can anyone recommend a good car hire company from Pisa Airport.

I have looked at Hertz but they seem very expensive and I am hoping that someone may be able to recommend a cheaper option.

Thanks

Try

Pa.Car Service

Aeroporto Galilei - 56125 Pisa (PI)

tel: 050 35743 fax: 050 46318

It is a local one and should be less expensive

Hi there,

I'm afraid they don't have any web-site. Just give them a call...

:-)

HI we have found car hire very expensive in Italy - compared to UK/Ireland. Around the lakes in the north particularly so and very few car hire offices.Government push public transport which is very good I think but not if you want to go on local roads and see the rest of the country obviously- we've done bith and driven our own car there too, from Ireland through France. It is definately cheaper if you book it from UK/Ireland in advance, when choosing an international car hire company. Advise to be careful with local companies in Italy as there view on insurance may not be what you would want and perhaps they may not be able to translate into adequate English - they often have a very laid back appraoch- that's ok, in my view until there's an accident. Read around for advise on driving in Italy because it's a differnet experience from the unclutteres peaceful roads in France, especially if you have italian plates and the locals don't know your foreigners.

Thanks for the reply.

We have been to Italy a few times before and know what the driving can be like. We went to Spain a month ago and the car hire for a week was £96 and we got a 2.2 litre turbo diesel Honda Civic for that. The best price I've found so far in Italy is £181 with Auto Europe for a Bravo. Found cheaper prices but only for very small cars and we're used to the safety of larger cars so don't really want to go down that route. I think we'll just have to grin and bear it and at the end of the day I love Italy and all the fabulous sights it has to offer so we'll just have to make sure we get our money's worth.

Thanks again.
