We are NCL CRUISE LINE docking in LIVORNO. What is the best way to get to Florence city center from Livorno? The private cars and and taxi seem very expensive.We are not interested in taking a tour because we have been in Florence numerous times. How far away is Florence from Livorno? Any info greatly appreciated.

I was on a cruise in April and a bunch of us took the train from Livorno to Florence. The ship sold a transfer into town and from there we bought a bus ticket to the train statin and then the train to Florence. About 2 hrs total. Did you go on cruisecritic.com and look up your roll call? I met many people that were on my same cruise and we set a meeting place to do the transportation together.
