Hi

Travelling to Pisa next week as a group of 8 - bound for Florence. As not much time, thought may have a quick trip around Pisa before heading onto Florence.

Would be grateful for advice on travel from Pisa Airport to the Leaning Tower and then onto Florence

thanks

Graham

Hi, the train from pisa airport to pisa centrale is about 5 minutes. There you can use the luggage locker to store your luggage and it is about 20 minute walk to the tower. It is almost straight - print off a google map. I cant remember how long the train from pisa to florence takes. We only visited the tower and the dome in pisa, there is much more to see in florence.

Hi

Thanks for that - you wouldn't know how often the trains to Pisa Central run?

Also - theres more - is it worth booking museum tickets in Florence, or is it not too busy in October

cheers!

hello grahamfin:

Do not worry about the short time in Pisa. The most represented there, is in the same area called Field of Miracles: the famous leaning tower, the Baptistery, the cemetery and the Basilica. And do not forget to take a photo holding the tower falling, if you can not not say you were not in Pisa.

Enjoy!!!

Grahamfin: We di the same-checked our luggagebut took the bus to Field of Miracles. Then we headed back and took a coach bus to Lucca-which was glorious. Stayed at Hotel Rex-Rode around the walls of the city-did a horse/buggy ride. Took the train from Lucca to Florence. Heaven

Hi! Hope you don't mind me asking this question here.

My husband and I are going to Florence in November and fly back from Pisa airport so we are think to have a quick look at Pisa.

I just wondering how big are these luggage locker? Are they big enough for a suitcase?

Also how does train ticket works? Do we need to get separate tickets for Florence - Pisa, Pisa - Pisa airport or can we just buy Florence - Pisa airport ticket and get off at Pisa???

Thanking you in advance to any of your reply.

Thanks.

Hi

Back from Pisa / Florence - thanks for all your input!

We purchased bus tickets at airport .95 euro to the Leaning Tower at Pisa - we walked back to the railway station - 20mins - but bus does go back to the station.

We then purchased return train tickets to Florence 11 euros each - some return trains go to airport station - but ours didn't so we took the bus from outside railway station to the airport - .95 euros again!

We only had hand luggage!!

Once again thanks to you all!

When we visited in the summer, we bought a ticket from Florence to Pisa Airport. You can check the train schedule to avoid a direct train, but we changed train in Pisa anyway.

We left our luggage at the Pisa Centrale train station left luggage office - it is actually an office (manned and with luggage shelves) at the end of the platform and not lockers as such, so I don't think the size of the case is too critical.

Hope this helps you.

Enjoy your trip.
